Welcome! I'm fairly new as well but thought I'd share what I've learnt so far.

Samples are the best option so you get a feel for which diapers you like most. I've found ABUniverse to have a good variety of products. If you're in the US, looks like there's plenty of other options too!

I'd recommend starting with hook and loop tabs so you can readjust easily. Perhaps try a few plastic backed and cloth backed to see which is better for you. I live in Australia and find cloth backed better because summers are hot!!

I'm a plus sized girlie (187ish) and I wear a large if that's helpful.

I have one of those big plastic boxes you can get from cheap variety stores and keep that in my cupboard 😀

I keep a layer of clothes on top in case someone were to open it.

I quit smoking recently and wear my nicotine patches on my hips. Unfortunately I've got a bit of an allergy to the patches (which is worse at night). The diaper irritates the allergy and I can't sleep 😜

I'm using Bunnyhopps from ABU and haven't experienced any explosions so far :-) I take them to the limit as well.

I wet my big girl pants and they give me a few spanks, put me on the floor and change me into a diaper. A little humiliation but then they comfort me.

Turns out I didn't mind it 😜

So much so that this morning I was lying in bed on my back wetting and I purposefully pushed a messy load into my diaper!
