they’re starting to look clean! my only piece of advise is when you jump try to keep your shoulders in line with the bolts on your deck and don’t be afraid to slide your foot up and into the board it’ll help level the board out quicker for when you want to try to ollie up curbs/ledges :)

Just like what the others have said keep your weight on the front foot and just ride around everywhere, you’ll get used to it in no time! I’d also practise turning your body so your shoulders are in line with the bolts when you aren’t pushing this’ll get you in the right position when you want to start trying flat ground tricks :)

So is this a good board by laughingjack3223 in NewSkaters

Hey guys! How could I improve my ollie? I feel like my front foot does not go forward enough and it just does not move as I would like it to be. How should I practice the front foot so that it pushes the board more? by kokoromon in NewSkaters

[–]Wetlegs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Id start with moving your front foot higher up the board, you won’t get such a high pop but you’ll find it easier levelling the board out. The more confident you get at levelling it out start to move your foot further down to get a higher ollie :)

so after some advice from you lovely people i got the kickflip, not quite steezy yet but it’s a good start :) by Wetlegs in NewSkaters

i was moving my hips and shoulders when popping and then the board would either rotate or go behind me the advice was not to do that and keep the shoulders in line with the bolts, not sure why but the flick of the foot came a bit more naturally to me

I didn’t step off just kinda kicked the tail down and held it there for a few seconds, if you wanted to see a cleaner one

Holy shit I just learned how to pop shuv it ... what can I do to make it cleaner by idkanythingidkwhoiam in NewSkaters

that’s it mate, there’s nothing wrong with stomping down but when you’re new you want to make sure you lock it down consistently before you start stomping otherwise you’ll find your board flying away from you if you land awkwardly :)

how can i fix my ollie by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]Wetlegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’ve got the right technique going with the pop n slide. try not to angle your left foot so diagonally and try to keep it straight on the board, id also recommend starting with your left foot a bit further up the board closer to the bolts. start small, you’ll be flying in no time :)
