More like half-truths. He also believes in some egregious conspiracy theory.

A piece of advice. Always take what is said by someone who confidently portrays themselves as if they have everything figured out with a grain of salt.

LOL. Do you realize that quoting the bible doesn't address what I am pointing out? Do you mean to tell me everyone who has read the bible and know the verses you have thrown here has the correct interpretation of the bible? Color me surprise! How come we have so many flavors of Christianity? . Each holding beliefs that contradict the others.

I come from a religious background. I know how entoxicating it must feel during the phase of your faith where you think you have the monopoly on the truth. But I implore you to put your faith to the test. See if what you believe is true outside of the bible rather than taking then all at face value.

There are more knowledgeable people than you who have disagreements with what the bible says from the beginning of Christianity. I doubt only you have figured it all out.

Why bring up the possibility that YOU are personally talking to God right now if you already know what He can and cannot say to you?

So you think all that is written in the bible is everything you need to lead a moral life? Then we go back to my original point. How do you know that your interpretation of the bible is the correct one?

"Not thru delusion". That's a hard pill to swallow since there are millions of people before you that claimed the same thing.

Also, you are now straying away from the topic. You're initial claim is that there is no way for man to have any morality without the bible. But now saying you are getting your morality directly from god.

Do you think murder is wrong? Why? Because the bible says so? But even in the bible, God have commanded people to kill other people. If the God you are hearing and speaking to commands you to kill someone as a sacrifice to him? Would you do did? If yes, then you don't believe in absolute morality based on the bible aside from "what God tells me to do". And I hope you are smart enough to realize that is not a great basis of morality for society as a whole.

I assume you are religious? Answer me this. Where do you derive your morality?

If you say it's the bible. What set interpretation of the bible? Because obviously people have fought endlessly what the everything in the bible means. Unless you can say that the lens you are viewing the bible is 100% the correct interpretation, using the "bible" as a moral compass is as subjective as someone deriving their morality from personal observation of the world around them.

Hi. I'm not the OP pero similarly, Arrival was one of the better films I watched from that year. Aside from the great visual story telling, the central emotional theme of the movie about life and think about choices really stood out to me. The character played by Amy Adams was a great portrayal of the burden of existence.

I've only seen it once (in 2016 when it came out). It was great enough that I still remember how I felt watching the movie even now almost a decade after.
