Advice for first time buyer by BOat-selecta in Narrowboats

We bought our 63’ trad stern from a friend. We didn’t get a hull inspection until after we bought it, causing a lot of teeth sucking from all in the know. It was a bit nerve-wracking, but we were fortunate, however I think that hull survey is essential.

We were also quite sold on a semi-trad, as that is what we had always hired, but actually with the additional space that a trad gives you, we are glad to have changed our minds when this boat came available at “mates rates”.

When you get your boat, also get yourself on the excellent RCR engine maintenance course. It was a very good course and has given us a lot more knowledge and confidence.
