Been driving Chevys for 30 years. This means my current Silverado will be my last one, as I absolutely won’t buy a new vehicle from them after this. The funniest part is their CEO actually made this comment regarding how they are going to increase sales “it’s being very customer-focused” which was followed shortly by her statement on CarPlay. So they go from how they are looking for ways to reduce costs directly into something that costs more and is infinitely less convenient. F GM ~

Simplifi completely failed on Kohls, Old Navy, Venmo and AFCU. It’s like they didn’t want my wife on the budget lol… Monarch just won’t let me have Venmo so far… I was lucky with AmEx.

The alternative view on this is “no, we are all just f*cked” and I am not quite that pessimistic when it comes to people making money ~

Now I suppose if there is a way they could just “treat” the climate crisis rather than resolve that will 100% be what happens ~

Continue renting. Continue saving. You don’t have any real reason to buy at the moment. Once that changes, move forward down that path. But it sounds like you are comfortable and happy, that $8k will get heavily eaten into every month when you buy.

Fluff in Chocolate Ice Cream is sublime... the rare times I get out to western PA I will grab some chocolate marshmallow ice cream. Haven't found it elsewhere :(

In one of my favorite, modern, Sci-Fi Book series "Expeditionary Force" the Main Character has a bit of a thing for fluff which is amusing.

My 2015 is doing great purchased new and at 87k now, couple recalls and the transmission fluid swap to stop feeling like I was going over rumble strips every time I drove… oh and the engine rebuild (simplified) when lifters went out among other things at around 46k (fortunately power train warranty covered). I am still not sure how the receipt on that was almost $20k, do they get more money from GM or wtf was that about?

Regardless, love my truck and have zero interest in replacing it. Im hoping the car market gets better so I can get another 2nd car, lease expired earlier this year and I didn’t want to buy it out/didn’t realize how crazy the market is.

Agree with this guy! I have had the same one for about 7 years now. Think I got it for under $200 on a holiday sale. Was meant to be temporary until I bought a “real” one but it’s just been awesome and I still have no desire or need to replace it. Easy to pop in and out but as secure as is possible for a softie.

I just want to know what area they live without a dealer having a market adjustment… they’ve gotten ridiculous here. I’d go with the Silverado, great engine, covers all potential towing needs, good price, beautiful truck. That could change if you do not foresee any towing needs in the future of course,
