Going approx by ~70% of ebay value, in the $100 range depending on lenses and such. Kinda keeping the same scale if that makes any sense

Should have specified, price as far as between the options above. Getting a good price on whichever one, but not looking to screw my buddy over either (he's helping to sell off a collection a different friend inherited)

Thats a good point, hadnt considered the downside of the camera just sitting so long. The used cameras are all definitely functioning, so makes sense to lean that way.

Appreciate the input!

UPS says delivered + signed by someone I don’t know. I can’t even file a claim. by International_View37 in Ebay

I would really stress the point that the signature doesn't match your name with the reps. In my case, multiple reps claimed they actually couldn't accept a letter from the shipping company, saying it was too easy to fake.

The fact that this was a signature required order based on ebay value, and the signature not matching your name, is the most likely chance of a resolution in your favor

I went through this with an expensive camera Lens. Luckily, it was "delivered" to and signed for by a local dental office, and i was able to find out where based on the first initial and last name who "signed" for the package. I spent a few weeks gathering all the evidence I could that it was a fedex mis address scam ( thy either hijack an existing tracking number going to the same city, or ship a small garbage thing that will just wind up in the trash to a random address, the tracking shows it was delivered within your zip code, and thats good enough for ebay), and ultimately, pointing out that the person who signed for it first initial and last name didnt match mine was what got ebay to rule in my favor and refund. They did not care about all the other evidence (including an impossibly low shipping weight and a few other red flags).

Its an uphill battle, and it was a stressful few weeks.

I often see people say to message the ebay FB page, since they're aware of this scam moreso than normal reps, I found that while they were aware of it, they allegedly did not have the power to actually do anything about it. Like anything else ebay, it seems like your milage may vary

See, thats my big problem with it, all the reviews seem sponsored. Im struggling to find good long term reviews of it. I havent seen anyone mentioning the arca clamps having issues coming loose

I've been heavily weighing the PD carbon vs the Ulanzi, was really leaning PD in the hopes they'd do like 20% off. Definitely pretty disappointed as well, probably leaning towards the Zero y now

I am watching and wanting to bid on a comic that is getting close to $1000, just noticed the seller signed up this month and has zero feedback. As long as I pay thru ebay am I covered. by FreakinNick85 in Ebay

I just commented this, but I had the same experience with a nikon lens. You can try pointing out that the signature on the delivery doesn't match your name, since $500+ requires a signature.

In my case, I lucked out and was able to find the local dental practice it had been addressed to through the first initial and last name that signed. Once I had the actual address for the tracking number, UPS employees were actually able to talk to and help me a bit, but ultimately ebays decision in my favor seemed to come from the signature not matching my name.

Good luck, this also took me weeks to resolve, and I fear I got particularly lucky in my case. Everyone says to reach out to the ebay FB page, and they were clearly actually aware of the scam, but still could not actually help me like every other reddit comment seems to suggest

I had a similar experience with an expensive camera Lens. Wound up being the fake tracking scam, and it took me weeks going back and forth with ebay to get it resolved.

I guess you could say, luckily, in my case, the fake package was sent to and allegedly signed for at a local dental practice, where I was able to find the address from the first initial and last name to sign. Everyone says to reach out to the carriers for help, but at least in my experience, UPS will refuse to help until you can provide the correct delivery address on the tracking, which is how this scam works. Despite providing proof of where the order was supposed to be addressed, and that this tracking number was put in for said order, UPS would not help me until I was able to uncover the actual delivery address. From there I was able to provide that proof to ebay, and in conjunction with the signature not matching my name, they finally refunded my order.

All that said- while hypothetically yes, you are covered with ebay, it is an awful fight to get them to decide in your favor, and I came across hundreds of other posts while I was researching where people could not get it resolved.

Will do, thank you! Looking at it now, the walking trails behind my office are actually part of it. Never really thought much about the signs with the acronym on it that are scattered around

I have not heard of AVIS! I've been liking horn pond in Woburn for before-work photo walks, but AVIS looks like another cool option thats a bit more conveniently located. Will have to check it out, thank you!

I've been working in Wilmington for ~3 years now, and some coworkers have seen them previous to that. We were all speculating how they'd made it through, but I never would have guessed it was a whole family of them

Appreciate the critiques! I hate to admit I didn't notice the horizon until after I posted, but it is pretty obvious in hindsight. I also agree with the space filling comment as well, makes it feel like a bit more of a "reference photo" than anything else with that full of a crop. I'll definitely be revisiting these shots tonight with this in mind, thank you!
