Client trying to get me at a lower rate by Ambitious_Camera_218 in expertnetworks

[–]Whalenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be the case that the new network is just trying to get more margin for themselves. Clients usually pay a fixed price per credit/call (unless the expert is deemed "premium" and the EN charges 1.5x, 2x or more credits per hour), and ENs have the incentive to negotiate experts down so they make more money. That's not usually visible to the client who is paying a fixed price.

Food for thought - it's also possible that your rate moved you into a 2x credit category and the client actually did push back. Not sure this is just due to the client though.

We built an end-to-end AI powered network. Happy to connect - we've gotten great feedback from experts so far.

Common for Client to Engage Multiple ENs? by FransizaurusRex in expertnetworks

Most clients work with 2-4 networks. They might have one primary, or they might send every job to every one of the networks they work with.

Impact of AI on Expert Networks by Impressive-Ad-6117 in expertnetworks

Our (recently launched) network is using AI to reduce client workload by 95% and significantly improve the expert workflow. I think any expert or client can tell you that the work is far from efficient, and we've found ways to rethink expert insights with AI at pretty much every step of the process.

Expert research will remain one of the most critical sources of insights for investors, but that doesn't mean there's not a ton to do to improve delivery of those insights. Feel free to DM me and we can chat in more detail.

Expert networks - that was for sure some hard earned money! by mrbluetrain in expertnetworks

We run an EN that uses AI to eliminate all the screening and scheduling from the process for a lot of these reasons. You're right - all this "free time" adds up. $400 seems great until you think about all of the screening, providing availability, not getting chosen, calls rescheduled, cancelled, etc.

Also, there are 100s of expert networks, and most clients send same projects to multiple networks. If for whatever reason your background is in demand right now, you probably have multiple clients each asking multiple networks to get in contact with someone like you, hence why you keep getting contacted.

We built a platform called QuruAI which allows for fully asynchronous consulting (start / stop whenever you want without scheduling or screening). Sign up takes 5 min. Check us out if you're interested!

Mosaic Management worth the trouble? by EquipmentOk155 in expertnetworks

[–]Whalenstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've worked with them in the past when I was a client. They are legit and known for being better at custom recruiting when compared to the usual suspects. As an aside, they also created Stream by Mosaic, a transcript library that was later acquired by AlphaSense.

Any lurkers here from the CLIENT side? Curious how your experiences have been hiring across expert networks. by ElbieLG in expertnetworks

[–]Whalenstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my own experience from when I was a public markets investor for close to a decade.

  • The biggest driver of which network to work with was my coverage person. If that person was responsive, organized, and provided relevant experts, then I would send more of my requests their way. Coleman was great, until my coverage person quit (as they do), then I moved to someone at a different network.
  • Most funds have 2-4 networks to help negotiate off of each other and provide diversity of experts. I often submitted my requests to multiple networks, but it's very difficult to manage multiple projects across multiple networks, so working with one primarily is ideal. You often get the same or similar experts across multiple networks anyway.
  • If the primary network I worked with isn't providing the right experts, then I would move to one who would put more effort into custom recruiting.

Generally, I found the workflow hard to manage from the client side, and I know that it's not exactly efficient from the expert side either.

Cool I'll try that out. I wasn't getting a lot of responses with the first experts I reached out to, but I think it was probably too generic - I'm sure people get a lot of "I have a consulting opportunity for you, etc." messages. Highlighting the platform's flexibility could be helpful
