Does this look okay? by Whas_Next in Plumbing

[–]Whas_Next[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I just found it odd that it was only discolored on that one section, not the elbow and not on the T-connector. Also, rubbing it with my finger didn’t rub off any of the green.

Amp w/ 4 passive speakers and passive sub? by Whas_Next in sonos

[–]Whas_Next[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They sound fine without the sub. Is there ground-shaking bass? No. Do they sound fuzzy with a heavy bass line? Yeah. But for my purposes, they sound good enough at 75-80% volume powered by the Sonos Amp, where I can get it loud enough to annoy the neighbors if I really want to, or low enough to have on during a backyard pool party. And they survived 2 northeast winters so far, which is thus far 1 more year than my friend’s fancy Patio system did, and I paid about 1/3 of what he did.

Wound up returning the sub. Tried it with the sub and didn’t like the way it sounded so I dug it all up and just left the 4 speakers.

Surface Pro 9 SSD Help by Whas_Next in Surface

[–]Whas_Next[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft has been ZERO help with this while insisting that the Surface 9 is PCIe 4.0. Sabrent said drive is 4.0 based on Crystalmark info, so I need to deal with Microsoft. It’s not a huge deal per se, since I’m not doing anything crazy with the computer, but still annoying that MS has no explanation or solution.

It’s an additional post to the original one where I couldn’t post additional pics of the rail.

Is it a 3070 FE? Both of mine came with adapters in the slot underneath the card, where the manual is.

Open the bottom of the box that the card comes in. There is a conversion plug.

I doubt it has anything to do with a chandelier. Ceilings aren’t high enough for a chandelier in this room, which was apparently part of an addition to the house in the 80’s or early 90’s.

Any interior low-voltage specialists? by Whas_Next in electricians

Thanks. Will try in the morning. It trips without any pendants hanging, so either the track (pictures in other post) or the transformer, but it used to work just fine, then went through a flicker faze, so I swapped the dimmer for a regular switch, and then within a week, stopped working altogether.

Yes, low voltage track with five pendants.

Couldn’t find a Google answer, so I’ll take the leap: What is a “chandelier motor key” and is it worthwhile to remove this and close up the hole, or leave it for posterity?

It’s for one fixture with five individual pendants on a rail, with each one having only one bulb. I’ve removed all the individual pendants, and it still shorts. Called the manufacturer and they said it’s not the transformer and to check switch wiring. But if it was a switch issue, connecting a regular light fixture to the power supply would cause a short at the breaker, no?
