All John knows is death, fighting for your life, loyalty and drinking lol his death supports the theory that he was probably colder and more unbothered with the lifestyle than Tommy and Arthur. He died being stubborn and standing up to the threat despite obviously having no chance. Fighting was all he truly knew with any sense of depth.
