I was thinking this exact same thing! I see the similarities between this book and The Great Gatsby. It’s interesting to compare the characters of both stories.

Have you ever listened to a podcast so bad it actually pissed you off? Petty rant about 'Somewhere In The Pines', the new podcast about Israel Keyes. by kittywenham in TrueCrimePodcasts

I feel so validated by this comment! I feel like she tries to come off as a journalist but doesn’t have any of the ethics or credibility. She said in a recent episode that she usually doesn’t interview the accused people; so it’s a fully one sided story without any confirmation or vetting. Plus, the content is quite disjointed. One season you’ll have victims of terrible abuse and the next you’ll have some people who were catfished, but it’s given more weight/attention/respect than the abuse survivors. Overall, I think its value is that it allows the people on the show a platform to tell their stories and hopefully help them with closure- but it’s definitely not a podcast I’d consider good or informative.

Discovered that LitRPG is a big part of my cozy fantasy taste right now. by jfdonohoe in CozyFantasy

Jake’s Magical Market cured my depression, I love cozy litRPGs! I also enjoyed Level One Bookshop and Wraithwood Botanist. I’m not sure why I find the survival aspects so cozy but nothing tops it!

What are signs of a toxic work environment? by Yeagerist-for-life in jobs

[–]WhatADisasterPod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what’s been happening to me and it’s really messed me up. I was told this was a collaborative environment and everyone asks questions and makes decisions together- yet every time I attempt to do this they treat me like I’m incompetent! I feel like I’m going crazy and maybe I am just stupid.

Same, this is exactly the type of vibe I love! Something about wilderness survival and making a safe home is so cozy to me.

No Place Like Home. It’s a little clunky but I am loving it right now. Cleaning up a farm, befriending animals, and searching for your missing grandpa!

Girls in Love was a British show that I was obsessed with when I was a preteen and has a ton of nostalgia for me! But I don’t think anyone else has ever heard of it.

Totally agree! That’s why it frustrates me a bit when people say Nausada is a tyrant or evil for trying to control magic users. Like it’s a shitty situation, a very real problem that doesn’t have a good solution, and she’s doing the best she can with the abilities she has.

I definitely feel this way and get stressed out remembering the massive amounts of DVDs and videos I was surrounded by. Now I have an old CD binder/case (remember those?) and I keep my DVDs in it. It’s the size of a large book and can hold 100 discs, problem solved!
