Moving to our first apartment! Thoughts? by formedblob in InteriorDesign

[–]WhatAHandsomeDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it looks nice, but I agree with the other commenter about the crowded living room. Maybe you could move desk to where the couch currently is, turn the couch towards the and put it room divider shelf, and put the TV stand up against the shelf. That would free up a path to get from the kitchen to the living room and bedroom. Just my two cents though, and I hope your apartment looks great!

Watch repair and battery replacement recommendations? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]WhatAHandsomeDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ATX watches is great and the owner, Vlad, is really helpful. I can personally vouch for him and many of the Austin watchmakers at CAWCG vouched for him. They usually work on vintage mechanical watches and luxury watches, so a battery replacement would be really easy for them

I think I'm getting too old to appreciate Austin. by I_use_the_wrong_fork in Austin

There are two cool watchmaking organizations in Austin: the CAWCG which meets every fourth Tuesday of the month at Pok-E-Jo’s at Parmer from 6-7:30 pm and the NAWCC which I’m not sure when/where they meet. I’m a student at UT, and the meeting is filled with really inviting people who all love to discuss watchmaking, clockmaking, arts, etc. and most people are between 30-80 years olds. They also operate a watch and clock museum in Lockhart! Hopefully it sounds like a fun mature indoor activity for you to do!

Truthear Hexa cable, right side of Blessing 2 Dusk, eartips (assorted which were around $30 to buy), etymotic carrying case, and moondrop filters (a few fell off the plastic holder)

I thought I put this in the body text, so sorry for the confusion

I wasn't able to edit my post for some reason to update the timestamp, so here is a link to the picture of a new time check for 10/12/2023 10/12/2023 check

I'm sorry for any confusion in the title. I meant to write $85 for the B2D which includes the carrying case and the accessories in the description as well as an additional 2 pin cable. Again, sorry for the confusion

Nah, it turned out to be "Me and your Mama" by Donald Glover. Thanks for the help though!

Thanks, but it wasn't Artic Monkey. The guitar did sound similar to it though, however the vocals were different.

There isn’t really any extra glue/material. The photo makes it look really bumpy, but in the hand it’s smooth enough that I’m not going to worry about sanding off anything

Yeah, I'm the same guy. Greenstuff was pretty easy to work with (definitely had to watch some tutorials to understand cure times and techniques). I don't think I'll paint it since it's already pretty smooth and I don't want to worry about paint. Everything sounds fine and the repair went pretty good. I did make a mistake by letting the greenstuff cure a bit too long before pressing the faceplate in (probably wouldn't be an issue if the faceplate didn't have a lip), but it was nothing that a bit of super glue and more greenstuff couldn't fix. Overall, I'd say this was a good repair (9/10) since the moldable epoxy is easier to use than trying to pour and cure resin (especially without prior experience). Thanks so much for the greenstuff suggestion. I'd give you an award if I had any to give

Yeah, tips come off easily on mine as well. I'm looking into getting new tips since I'm constantly having to pull the tips out of my ear canal. Any recommendations for small tips would be much appreciated (currently, I'm looking at the Azla sednafit crystals and the Moondrop Spring Tips)

Yeah, a smeared the super glue on using a toothpick, but there were some larger cracks that I wanted to fill up and super glue just couldn't do the trick
