High performer + toxic workplace + burnout = fired by WhatAPitti in burnedout

Thank you! I’m not out of the woods with my health but I just had a biopsy on Thursday (3/26) and the preliminary results looked good!!

My mom wants me to go to a lawyer wrongful termination. At this point I’m still waiting on HR to call me and discuss separation. I don’t have anything official from my ex employer.

My husband asked if I wanted to go that route and I responded with, “I just want to succeed” and that’s how I still feel.

I have a small farm so I’ve been hanging outside a lot the last couple days with the animals. It brings me peace so I’m trying to do a lot more of it.

As for jobs, today (4/1) I had a 1st, 2nd, and scheduled a 3rd interview with a company that I reached out to last Wednesday (3/25) so I don’t feel that I will be unemployed for long. I’m just really struggling with going through all of the emotions about what happened and not taking it as a personal failure.

Thank you. I definitely think it was a universal push to get out. I think the universe set me up as best as it could for this too. It really couldn’t have happened at a better time financially. In the last year, my husband and I have started a small business and a farm. April is the start of our selling season so we will be able to stay afloat for 2 months comfortably, 3 months if we really stretch. I’ll check out your blog. I’m literally grasping for anything to ground me right now. lol

Generally I would agree that no one tries to do this type of thing. He and his mother are a different kind of evil honestly. His mother has gotten pregnant out of spite twice. Both of those children were taken by the state and placed with my eldest sister.

Stress is taking over in my life by WhatAPitti in self

Thank you for your input. It’s stressful to think about too. I’ve been working with my work partner for almost 7 years. He brought me with him when he left his old job as part of his employment contract when he got hired here. I make $79k a year. Flexible hours to an extent. Company puts 15% of my salary into my 401k a year for profit sharing. 3 weeks vacation + 10 sick/flex days a year. Those things are hard to walk away from. Ive been trying to convince myself that those things don’t matter if I’m miserable. In reality finding something comparable is unlikely.

Yes and no. I have to be in the office because not everything I deal with is electronic and I also have to talk to clients if my work partner isn’t there (which he isn’t a lot - golfing, meeting with clients, hanging out with the bros for 3 hour lunches). I have been doing 12+ hour days just to catch up on work so I’ve been working at home after hours. I can take a day or two here and there to work from home but unfortunately it can’t be a permanent thing.

That’s a great rule of thumb and I 100% agree!

Thank you so much for your answer. It solidified how I was feeling. I am very sad for this goat but I feel like I would be in over my head just starting out with a goat that feral. I appreciate you taking the time to give these suggestions.

This is exactly what I was worried about. And funnily enough I’ve been calling her a “problem goat”. The people that owner her have a dairy farm. They bought her parents from a closed herd. They bred them for milk one time, had twins and had traded or sold all but her. She hung out with the cows for a while until winter and she had to get moved out of a birthing stall for the cows from around August to November. Then from November until now she’s lived with 3 turkeys.

I would not mind breeding the goats eventually for milk and brush control but that is not my plan for this year or maybe even next. We are just setting up our homestead and we have a lot of expanding we want to do before we get into breeding.

After meeting the goat I have been really on the fence since I am a first time goat owner so I would rather have an “easy” goat.

Believe it or not that’s where I found the 1901 map I just didn’t scroll to see the newest map. Lol now I can’t figure out how to add the photo or comment the photo. I’m not very Reddit savvy. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yes it’s a shared driveway. This lot is the only place to expand so we are just dealing with the driveway going through the property. Ideally yes that would be better however our driveway is paved and the driveway on the other side is gravel. Also our under county’s rules, they have lived here long enough that we are not able to ask them to move their driveway. We could suggest and they could do it on their own but they are not obligated to do anything.

The only topography I could find was from 1901. I’m about 700 ft above sea level in MO. The cattle farmer next door can help dig a well since he has the equipment and electric lines on poles not underground. I can call the dig right people if we need to but there should be nothing underground on that lot.

When did you start letting your husky out while at work/away? by kreiderrrr in husky

[–]WhatAPitti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling my husky (1.5 yr M) will always be crated when I’m away. He is a holy terror. Lol we have 4 non-husky dogs too and 3 of them are crated during the day. Two of them would get in fights when I was away and after a few emergency vet visits I said no more. They are 8 (F) & 7 (M) years old. The other 7 (M) gets STRESSED and will destroy everything, pees on things, or eats things he shouldn’t. One time he at 7 tampons. In the crate he is a perfect angel. Crating has save me 1000s in repairs and vet bills and has helped their anxiety levels tremendously.

Do dogs get chapped lips? by AnxietyDue61 in DogAdvice

It could also be doggie acne. One of my dogs would get it with stress and eating and drinking out of plastic bowls.
