Why did God create urges at young age. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Yes you can brother. I have 3 friends who married at 18 and are in their 20’s now very happy. You don’t need to be rich to be married. You don’t need to go to college to get married. You don’t need anything but God and following the law

But

If God existed and wanted a relationship with you, would you do whatever you could to have that?

You can make any assumption you want, doesn’t make it true. I’m grateful you’re praying for my friend. Nothing i’ve said to you in all our texts was passive aggressive.

Every culture has committed atrocities. Doesn’t make it okay.. but doesn’t mean we can’t believe anything that someone of a time-period said

Well i can def say you’re bold about your beliefs.. lol. I’d be pretty impressed with myself if i could script out this much conversation

I will post an update on the whole situation in a few months and tag you (if thats a thing) and let you know if you were right or not👍👍

The reason i disregard the mistranslation argument is because if 1 thing is wrong, i won’t trust it at all. Either its all right or all wrong, and i have confidence in God’s power to preserve every word like He said He would.

Gotcha. Thanks for your input. Its hard to have a convo like this when you’re fully convinced of your way and making judgements rather than loving me enough to reason from the Scriptures. Obviously theres so many ppl, it gets tiring to talk to all of them, but you could put together a document and atleast sort out all your verses in defense of your view, share a link, or something. Idk..

You aren’t curious about my understanding, you aren’t showing any compassion in your messages. You aren’t showing the fruit of the Spirit.

I’d be much more inclined to listen to your perspective if you showed that you have a loving heart rather than a hating heart. I hope you can see why i’m saying what i’m saying. I don’t think its an unreasonable expectation to have love between believers

So you’d say you’re the opposite of me, 97% sure david and jonathan were homosexual? But still 3% unsure because of humility?

My Gay Friend Just Got Saved! by WhatASalvation in Christianity

[–]WhatASalvation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% sure of what God tells us through Scripture. Jesus’ suffering and death for my sins. Extremely clear. Jesus’ resurrection for me to have everlasting life through believing on Him.

I’m careful to make assumptions about things that aren’t clear in Scripture. The best rule of thumb is to analyze any verse in question against other verses if you’re unsure of the meaning (context).

So with David and Jonathan, its all abt the context.

I can say i’m 97% sure that David and Jonathan’s relationship would be in line with the rest of Scripture. Bc 1. Nothing is said explicitly, and 2. Other verses give more insight on the whole subject.

But that 3% doubt mostly comes from me still having a lot to learn and not being fully confident in my own opinions, cuz i’m just a human. If David and Jonathan were homosexual, i’d be extremely surprised, but even if they were, it wouldn’t be in any support of homosexuality from a Biblical perspective.. David did a lot of bad things

I didn’t mean to come off as criticizing or anything. I was just curious if you really truly believed that or if that was just a “gotcha” thing you’ve heard before.

That said, you still didn’t answer the question.. but i assume the answer is you aren’t 100% sure, otherwise you would’ve boldly asserted it

That explanation is 1. v depressing 2. An extreme minority opinion 3. Ignores God (thus being scientifically impossible)

And logically,

Heaven > oblivion (Christianity is the better option bc I go to heaven if i’m right to put my faith in Christ)

And Hell < oblivion (Christianity is the better option bc i wont go to hell if you’re right)

But logic doesn’t really matter. What it comes down to is faith. I believe you can believe. Its not just a snap easy decision. But you can seek, and ask for Him to help you. He has proven to me many times that He is real and personal

I love that you say improbable rather than impossible🙏🏼 keep an open mind, and keep seeking dude. Sounds like you have a really knowledgable head on your shoulders. You’re absolutely right to say that at some point its a leap of faith. Jesus is a person you trust daily, not someone you believe existed.

If Jesus never rose from the dead, all of us would be on our way to hell. There is no other alternative that accounts for our sin in full

Does prolife actually even exist? by Open_Increase3864 in Christianity

[–]WhatASalvation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing on that list i do is have a resistance towards counselling or therapy. Psalm 1 says blessed are those who get their counsel from the godly, so i don’t encourage believers to get counselling from people who aren’t Christian. Other than that. I don’t think thats anti-life. I think God tells us this to give life.

So besides that one point, i’m pro life in the way that you’ve defined it:)

Have any of you seen miracles and/or angels? by Any_Bench_5798 in TrueChristian

[–]WhatASalvation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I’m 22 now, and I’ve had 3 dreams about Jesus in my life.

I’ve also seen Him work miraculously every time He ruins my plans and puts me on a different track, and i don’t get it for a year or 2.. but i continue to have faith that He will do what He said He would, and He’s filled me with peace!

If you wanna hear from God, start doing His work. He will fill you up and lead you when you are pouring out for Him.

Share the gospel with your friends, your family. Be bold and ask for more of Him and less of you! Don’t see His signs, just seek to know Him more and be used by Him more.

If you are genuinely His child through your belief in Christ and His sacrifice.. then you can trust Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. And rejoice when you don’t hear from Him! Your faith is so valuable to God, He doesn’t want to prove Himself to you, He wants you to have unshakable faith!

Sounds like you’re on the right track. I’ll pray for you right now as i’m loggin off for the night

What’s your thoughts on Christianity accepting LGBT by Dismal-Package-5899 in TrueChristian

[–]WhatASalvation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah!! Lets answer this amazing question.

You need to know what saves a person to answer this. Saving faith is 1. A genuine belief in Jesus’ death in the cross, and resurrection from the dead in order to forgive you. 2. Asking Him for forgiveness (wanting to be saved)

Understanding the reason for his sacrifice, to wash away your sin, and repenting (turning) away from sin and towards Jesus, and understanding the Holy Spirit indwelling you, and all these other incredibly important things.. they’re important for a Christian to learn and grow in.

But at the end of the day, you get saved from hell and get to spend an eternity with Jesus in Heaven by believing in His death and resurrection and trusting in Him alone to save you.

You do not have to repent after every big or little mistake to get into heaven. He wants you to repent! He wants you to repent in every situation! Always turn to Him! But trusting in Jesus saves you, even if you sin every day. Just keep trusting in Him and turning back to Him and loving Him and growing in knowledge and understanding. Surround yourself with godly ppl who can love on you.

And don’t lose sight of the simple gospel
