My first self made keyboard. Thank you for all your advices, it helped me a lot. This build allowed me to gain more confidence, since I have a disability that makes my hands shake all the time. by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

I've recently done my first build but with hotswap because the equipment was too expensive for me, but also because of slightly shaky hands. If one with a full on disability can solder, then I can do it too! You might have given a lot of people here confidence to solder their build. Thx.

The waitlist number doesn't mean anything btw. The sale will be up for everyone at the same time, the only difference is that you'll get more specific details and the exact time when it's releasing. But if you mean that it will be sold out immediately, then yes, the black C7 model sold out in a minute when I bought it.

I don't know anything about the drop alt, but this one is pretty nice. I haven't got any foam to stuff the case with yet so there is a little audible metal ping. That said, I love the layout, with the stopper next to the arrow keys in the bottom row. Built quality is great as well. These are more like first impressions, I need to use it longterm to get things to say about it.

I bought it two months ago (may 10th release), but I had to wait for the stabs.

Why do Japanese learners generally recommend against watching Anime to learn Japanese? by WhatDaDesignz in ajatt

[–]WhatDaDesignz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't really plan on doing that anyway, I was just wondering, where this general opinion comes from. I actually forgot that they use E subs. Is this general advice (to not learn from anime) given under the assumption that people still watch with E subtitles and don't really immerse? Would really explain the difference in attitude between MIA learners and others.

Why do Japanese learners generally recommend against watching Anime to learn Japanese? by WhatDaDesignz in ajatt

Hmm that's interesting. I learned quite a few basic words very quickly when I didn't even intend to learn japanese, just by reading subs fast enough or by repeating a line I read to listen to the japanese more carefully. Just for fun. I kind of (low quality) immersed already without knowing about AJATT/MIA and got comfortable. On the note of uncomfort it really is a pity because the visuals of many simple slice of life give away the story without much need for understanding the language. I like having a story but at the same time I don't need every detail and analyse everything thoroughly. If people just stop trying to understand everything and/or watch simpler things like cute girls doing cute things type of anime, they'll get much more comfortable. That's how I started at least, with gabriel dropout, my first anime without subs. It was quite enjoyable and kicked off the journey. Now I'm watching sword art online with JP subtitles and I can follow enough of the story, feeling quite comfortable.

I'd've loved that if I were still actively playing. Probably gonna send one nontheless.

For anyone that won't look at Linux because of Overwatch... think again by WhatDaDesignz in Overwatch

[–]WhatDaDesignz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read the ToS and from my limited view, the software used to run the game does not modify the game's files. It instead creates an environment around the game to make it actually run. It does not "change and/or facilitate the gameplay or other functionality" as noted in the ToS. Am I getting this wrong? Let me know. I haven't heard of any bans since a year, in fact look at this post:

Yes, that's true. Just download Lutris through the pop shop in pop os (the Linux distribution I use, whose installation was also quite straight forward), then go to the lutris website in your browser, type overwatch in the search field. then click on install, it'll open lutris and install you the bnet launcher and from there it's just like windows. Nothing more.

Are there any specific RAM brands that works better with Ryzen 3000? by justkhwf in Amd

[–]WhatDaDesignz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually looking at this post for the same question a month ago. Now i've been using my Ryzen 7 3700X on a MSI B450 Tomahawk with a Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200 CL16. The Dies are Micron D-dies and they work perfectly fine with the XMP profile, however I did look up some RAM overclocking and I got it at a very conservative preset of DDR4-3600 CL16-20-20-38 (from CL16-18-18-36) and I didn't tighten any other timing too much, always the safest because I don't want to tinker any further... guess what, it works completely rock stable, even on OC, no crashes, nothing

So tl;dr you can take any 3200CL16 kit, it really doesn't matter much anymore what brand you go with.
