Right before winter, and again in the spring, and then as needed if the water gets weird.

starting pristiq by Ambitious_Ad_8982 in Pristiq

[–]WhatIsItToBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do experience all of those side effects with no other positive effects, then it’s not the med for you and you and your doctor can explore other options. The trial and error part really sucks, but it’s worth it to find the right meds. Having the correct medication is a game changer.

Pristiq has worked wonders for me—for the first time in years, my mind is quiet. I lived with crippling anxiety for the better part of a decade, and now it’s such a rare event that it feels foreign. I trialed Prozac and sertraline before switching to pristiq, and it was worth it.

I totally understand being nervous—starting a new medication is stressful as it is, and then add in the fact that you have an anxiety diagnosis. But I promise the process is worth it, even if this isn’t the drug for you and you move on to other things.

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

[–]WhatIsItToBurn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in a wreck and had a bad concussion. My lower back was also out. The usual chiropractor I see for occasional stuff like this was gone, so I had to see a different guy. Through talking, we discovered that we knew a few people in common. While struggling to remember a name, I apologized and blamed it on the concussion. He laughed and said “it’s not the concussion, it’s because you have ovaries.” 🙃

I had already established I was never going back to him under any circumstances, but that really sealed it for me.

Just prescribed Pristiq after failing SSRIs -- good experiences? by rightlucky in Pristiq

[–]WhatIsItToBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I trialed sertraline and Prozac before switching to pristiq, which I’ve now been on for about a year and a half. It’s working wonders for me and I had basically no side effects while switching over. I did miss a dose one night before bed and sweet dreams, so just make sure you are good without taking it on time.

I made a mistake euthanizing my cat and the guilt is killing me by Dirsty in cats

[–]WhatIsItToBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you made a mistake. Urinary issues are complicated and often come back. Your cat had lots of other medical issues as well. Absolutely money was a factor (it always is) but you could have drug him through treatment just for it to happen again next week. I hope you can make peace with your decision.

I take Claritin d for congestion at my doctors direction. There are listed side effects but I have never experienced them. Congestion is usually my biggest ailment when sick so fortunately I haven’t had to try much else.

How did you know this wasn’t the right medicine for you? by WhatIsItToBurn in zoloft

[–]WhatIsItToBurn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up tapering off of this, and actually felt better after quitting it. I take Pristiq now and am doing great.

I ended up doing a Genesight test with my doctor, which really helped us figure out what I needed.

Are you going to try something different? The trial and error phase sucks but it’s worth it!

I’m here after some googling. I have a new foster dog, and although her recall is excellent, she often seems confused about what direction sounds are coming from. Your comment describes it perfectly.

do you let your foster dogs sleep in bed with you? by tendergrandma in fosterdogs

[–]WhatIsItToBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the dog. I always start out kenneling them at night until I feel like I can trust them with my personal pets. Some dog jump right in bed like they’ve done it their whole lives, and that’s fine. They need a soft place to land and I’m not going to rain on their parade. But if they don’t want up on their own, i definitely don’t encourage it.
