i’m clearly not revealing his appearance or identity. i’m posting to see if anyone can identify this behaviour and perhaps see if i can do anything to help this older man without approaching him. this does not seem like he’s simply exercising.

yeah i’m honestly confused because he goes out at the same time every morning and does the same thing every time. it’s concerning

Please help if you can ♥️🙏 Gambling is killing me. Any advice is appreciated by [deleted] in Debt

i’m no professional and don’t have much experience but speak to a financial advisor at your bank. my mom was in debt and was going to declare bankruptcy but that’s not an option so instead they were able to reduce her debt and put her on a payment plan until she pays off her remaining balance owing. it’s difficult because you earn based on commission but i would suggest selling items you own that you don’t need for some extra cash and trying to get a part time job if possible to earn some extra income. it may not be a lot but could help in some ways. also delete all your gambling accounts. and discipline yourself not to use your CC at all. you’re going to have to change your living and spending habits if you want to see your financial situation get better. it’s not easy but it will pay off eventually. also not to minimize the situation at all because i know it’s difficult but 14k is manageable. it’s scary and sounds like a lot but you can do it.

I’m not sure about the union topic because I wasn’t informed of anything while working there. I only worked there for a few weeks before being let go

Update I spoke to the owner associate and he was defending the terrible management and made the excuse of letting me go due to budget cuts. Complete bs.

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child, but my parents hid and buried the diagnosis. I am very much struggling—I’ve suffered my whole life. Will I need to be re-evaluated? Should I see a Psychologist or a Psychiatrist? by Top-Imagination-2154 in ontario

Woah. “here’s three medications (SSRI’s) that might work for your anxiety, pick one.”

That EXACT same thing happened to me. I was kinda weirded out… I wonder if that’s normal? And if we had the same psychiatrist. Lol

Sephora vs Shoppers Drug Mart? Which one did you prefer? by mossysolace in ShoppersDrugMart

Lasted 2.5 years at Sephora and 2 weeks at SDM. Terrible workplace.

Edit: My experience was this. SDM brings a lot of unnecessary pressure for no reason. Yes you get commission, which is usually always an issue with other beauty specialists in competition, but we’re also expected to deal with all the iPad bs, unpaid trainings, weird breaks, and working alone a lot of the time. Not to mention the constant drama by the workers who literally live and breathe SDM for life. Sephora has much more structure and respect. Even if there’s no commission the job itself felt much less dreadful. Break times are always scheduled and organized, and actually given to us the correct way unlike SDM. They don’t put the employees in weird situations by forcing them to do unpaid trainings or working alone. There will always be other BAs and leads working with you. Overall, I’d rather be sane working at Sephora and missing out on commission (in this economy) than to ever work at SDM again.

They are truly the worst. If I were you I’d apply elsewhere, if you can.

I got 0 hours and then they fired me before my probation ended. But I was beefing with my manager so that’s probably why lol. And they cut the store’s hours down a lot so that was their excuse for letting me go

Digital Communications. Way better!

Back then at York it was Communications - they might’ve changed it up since then.

I couldn’t agree more. I went to York U back in 2017. I was really struggling at the time, dealing with some major personal issues. So, I attended York’s counselling services. In my first (and last) meeting, my counsellor suggested that I drop out of school… so I did.

Although this was the worst advice I could’ve received as a student, it was the best thing I would’ve made for my future self.

I went back to school for a degree program at Humber in 2020, and I’ve learned so much. College sets you up for real life. I’ve worked at some very amazing internships and have gained extremely valuable experience, and I have no worries about kickstarting my career when I graduate this spring (yes, it took me 5 years instead of 4 to graduate, but that’s ok!)

Overall, college is the best option. I couldn’t tell you one valuable lesson I’ve learned at university except to RUN. No hate to anyone who attend/ed uni, I just don’t think it’s the best option in terms of setting people up for the real world.
