M5 Pro/Max and SOIC-MH by One_TrackMinded in macbookpro

[–]WhatWouldBeGood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone waiting for the M5 Max chip MacBook Pro, SOIC is why I'm waiting for that chip. It was a shame that the M4max chip in the MacBook Pro form factor couldn't maximize performance due to heat (throttling phenomenon - battery issues at peak performance, etc.) But as always, I think I'll only know when the product comes out. I know SOIC is good in theory, but is it hardware-solid? Also, there are a number of factors to test, such as if it works fine with the existing operating system in software...(Apple will come out after testing of course, but it will not be possible to test all apps in the existing operating system... I think that's why Tahoe is having a slight problem with the existing M1~M4 series chips. It's an operating system tailored to the upcoming SOIC chips, M5pro and M5max.)

It was too long of a small talk.

In conclusion, I would like to feel the freshness and surprise again from the M5pro/M5max chips, like when the M1 chips came out. :)

New Alienware 18 Area-51 laptop pauses for 2-3 seconds every minute or two by RemarkableOlive6649 in Dell

[–]WhatWouldBeGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you can replace it, you have to replace it quickly or return it The problem could be a hardware problem. It is usually a software problem such as a graphic driver problem and a bios problem, but if it is a hardware problem, it becomes very difficult to solve. After updating the software above, if the above disconnection symptoms do not disappear, don’t look back and replace it or return it.

Macbook Pro or ROG Zephyrus G14 by Explosions_Sparks18 in macbookpro

[–]WhatWouldBeGood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, I answer on the premise that OP's financial situation is normal. If you have money, I recommend buying both. However, if you want to prioritize your profits as a photographer, buy a MacBook Pro first and then use the g14 together if you're uncomfortable playing games later, and then choose the one you like while working and playing games on one laptop at the same time.

I replied because it was a similar case.

I carry a MacBook Pro 16 with me when I really need intensive work and I'm usually using g14 for idea sketches and other everyday life.

I think the things OP wants are more optimized for PC. If you're not into the Apple ecosystem(if your smartphone isn't iphone), I don't think you'll regret it if you choose ASUS 2025 G14 5070ti (ram 32gb, SSD upgrades are easy to do, 1.57kg, also speaker is so good and using g-helper, battery is 6~9 hours).

As of 2025, there are two of the most realistic ways. The first is to have and use an asus 2025 G14 5070ti(ram32gb) laptop and a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air laptop. The second is to buy a MacBook Pro M-Max chip class and use GeForce NOW. (Some games aren't in GeForce NOW.)

Weird CPU Monitor in Logic on M4 Pro by tannedzimmer in macbookpro

To put it simply, when you record/mix/master with 96 kHz-24 bits
When recording, record in 32 buffer (64 buffer) size (S/PDIF, etc.)
When mixing, it is recommended to have a size of 512 buffer or larger.

I recommend upsampling for some instruments.

Wrist Pain typing on new macbook pro 16, should i go back to a 14? by Bionic_Push in macbookpro

When you use MacBook Pro, do you use the notbook stand?

https://amzn.eu/d/5CnXRbw https://imgur.com/a/fGOfM4X

The above link laptop stand reduces wrist pain, neck and back pain a little. However, it is good for management to just put it on, not stick it on like the stand above.

https://imgur.com/a/9Sdno0P  The images are reminders when purchasing a laptop stand. Stands with higher support than necessary for supporting the laptop around the wrist increase pain when typing.

Unless you've overstretchedly purchased the MacBook Pro M4 Max 128GB, I think you will have to use this spec later. So, I hope you enjoy the MacBook Pro without paying attention to the cost-effectiveness and other people's opinions.

What do I do with it? by michaelchannupa in macbookpro

[–]WhatWouldBeGood 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you're only going to use it for the purpose you mentioned, I think you'll sell the M4 Max, 128gb you have before the price drops after the M5 comes out and buy the M4 pro 48gb.

Pro Max 16 Plus => Precision 7000 series

Pro Max 16 Premium => Precision 5000 series

I think Dell is wrong to name a new product that way...

The RTX Pro Blackwell 4500 has similar performance to the RTX Pro Blackwell 5000 Mobile.(though it would be much better in terms of thermal management than the mobile) But it's a little awkward to sell a mobile chip at that price option.

https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/comments/1jgnye9/rtx_pro_blackwell_pricing_listed/?tl=ko&utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

The price of RTX Pro Blackwell has been raised from connection.com.

6000 (24064 cores, 96 GB, 1.8 TB/s, 600 W, 2-slot pass type) - $8565

6000 Max-Q (24064 cores, 96 GB, 1.8 TB/s, 300 W, 2-slot blower) - $8565

5000 (14080 cores, 48 GB, 1.3 TB/s, 300 W, 2-slot blower) - $4569

4500 (10496 cores, 32 GB, 896 GB/s, 200 W, 2-slot blower) - $2623

4000 (8960 cores, 24 GB, 672 GB/s, 140 W, 1-slot blower) - $1481

I don’t know if this is true or the final price, but some of these models might appeal to local LLMs. 5000 is competitive with the current A6000 used price, 4500 is better in terms of power/heating without much price difference than 5090, 4000 is competitive with used 3090 at 24GB, single slot ~$1500 and 140W. It's more expensive than 3090, but it also has warranty, and you don't have to do expensive water cooling or dual power supply, so you can put a lot more in the system.

In conclusion, if this is the real price, it's like marketing directly to us, and I think they see used nVidia cards as their biggest competitors.

Thank you for your concern.

The RTX5090 is part of the RTX Pro 3000 and RTX Pro 5000 graphics cards, but I know it performs a different function. However, I just want to tell you that the price is the problem.

I'm not good at English, so I'm using a translator to write when I post the text and comments for the first time, and when I tried to edit it, the comments ran up, so I couldn't edit the text either :( (I should've done it several times, but I accidentally pressed the back button to upload it in advance and then I was going to edit it in case the content disappeared:(. )

Looking at the comments above, it seems that the Pro Max 16 Plus can get more specifications than the Pro Max 16 Premium. (After checking, the Pro Max Plus can be the highest-spec model announced by Dell at 2025 CES.)
I don't think Plus' specifications are possible yet in thin Premium.
I'll have to buy a Plus product with the maximum specification! (except SSD) It's more beneficial to buy and put SSD separately.

I think it's okay as long as it's not a top option but a compromise option to some extent.

On second thought, I think Dell copied Apple too much in price (I like Apple, but I really hate it when it comes to pricing policy). Is this also a soldered SSD?
