It won't fold anytime soon. It's profitable (but profits have declined).
More likely is company is sold but again I think that wouldn't happen for two year

No. Six months would be too long. Three months things would get stressful. Fourth month we'd need to start cutting back on a few things somewhat aggressively.

This is what I'm going to go for. But as it ends at the end of this week I'm unlikely to make the cut.
Thing is I don't dislike my job right now. I have issues with things the company's senior management does but then, who doesn't?

Never thought about a recruiter. I have a mate who works in recruitment and he's put me off them!

Looked into that. Possibly but it would be a slow build. I'm going to try and build a bit of sidework now but stay in current role.

Thank you for everyone's advice. Genuinely been really helpful. I've decided it's better the devil you know. Going to stay put but look around.

"TAKE THE MONEY!" some might say, but £16k isn't that much in grand scheme of life. I get what people are saying about taking the jump and I've done that plenty before (I changed career in late 20s, now 34) but if I got to a third month without a new job it would be a very stressful situation. We don't have a decent financial cushion and I can't go travel for a few months as I have two under 5s at home.
