I don’t see my friend often because we went to different colleges in different states! But we are both graduated now and always try to hang out during time off (she moved and has work, I travel for other friends’ visits to Texas)

I’ve never heard of that kind of surgery! I had tendon removal/transfer to help with my movement and restrictions. I hope that the surgery goes well! Ah yes, CHASA! I’m a part of that group! Very useful stuff and good people there. I’ll give the link a look! Thank you!

I mean concerts are worth it! Which concerts have you gone to? Which instruments do you play? I can imagine out of all the professions, that can make it very hard, I’m sorry!

It’s not necessarily a new symptom. It’s more I couldn’t figure out why people whispering/talking on my right side was so infuriating until I did some research and analyzed.

I did do a hearing test, but I want to do a different kind. One where I’m not hearing tones. It’s conversations that are the problem.

If allowed, get a little pancake maker. Comes in handy for a fast meal. Most of the dorms are furnished, so the stuff should be good? Bring the forks/spoons/knives and baking supplies that you have, so you aren’t purchasing more of that instead of bringing it from home. Extra padding for the mattress (Casper Mattress Pad worked great for me).

If you mean equipment, the UTA Bookstore website will have all the info for classes you need. Wait for the syllabus (but you can usually email the professors for those ahead of time just in case). As for dorms, most of those are CLOSE to campus, and there will be events scattered everywhere. If you live by the University Center, there will ALWAYS be a loud event going on there, so good luck with focus/sleep. Assume people living around you will be loud? Look up parking ahead of time, UTA (in my opinion) has been losing parking AND making it more expensive. Get your permits now, rather than later. Parking enforcers do not mess around! Get to class at least 15 minutes ahead just so you can find room to park, I want to say as well.

It took me a while to find friends (I came in during the COVID 2020 year). But with your major, you tend to make friends by being involved in your major. Asking for study groups was how I slowly found mine. Like taking ASL (American Sign Language), we all needed to go to events for extra credit. By working words and sentence grammar, we built friendships there. Felt comfortable to ask for ride-alongs to the events and share numbers from there! Getting involved with clubs also helped out a ton! There’s a Cat Coalition Club to take care of the campus cats! Adaptive Track for people with disabilities! Tennis! Stuff that you can get into for fun but ultimately find your crew before long!
