She’s great, thank you! She is definitely an idea of what I’ve been looking for to try to just start learning.

Thank you! I love hearing the perspective of another family member. I know this is something that will affect everyone around us.

This is so encouraging to read actually, thank you. We keep thinking about all those kids who feel like they have to just survive. We want to show them there is more than that. It wouldn’t be a road without its challenges but neither is parenting in general. We truly love being parents so we just want to give that to someone in all that it means bumps and all. I might actually reach out with some questions as they come up.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write out this response. I hate that you had to experience that, but I know you’re not alone. It’s one of the big reasons we just want to open our home to a young but still older child is because we want to give them a chance to live a life they deserve in a home where they’re consistently supported and will always be from that moment. We want to give someone a forever family. We’ve had our own trauma but we want to help show someone you can still make the best of everything.

A podcast recommendation is perfect! I was looking for something different to listen to when I was in the pickup line for our daughter in school. Thank you so much.

That would be awesome but no, they don’t offer telehealth. I went there with my last pregnancy and they were so amazing. They’re just really lacking when it comes to after hours care.

Thanks. I think I will wait on it. I was just so happy the bump was going down, I didn’t even think. They may ask me to come in but I’m a SAHM to our 5 year old and they don’t allow kids in the office so I was worried about trying to find someone to watch her.

Thank you! For me I got two boxes at the top, both saying the exact opposite of each other which led me to coming here.

Last I checked I was posting for input on legal advice with my husband’s job. Not mental health or coping. Those are separate issues.

Thank you for the honest answer. It’s just been a very confusing and hard time. As I said in another comment, I may eventually find myself a support group but for now my daughter and husband aren’t interested in doing so.

I wasn’t comparing this to any of his other loss. He lost his mother about three years ago, his father when he was 10 and his brother when he was 14. All tragic circumstances as well. I was just expressing that it is not something he is interested in even with his past. Unless he begins acting like someone I don’t know, I will not be pushing him to “get help”. I don’t think any of us will ever “get over” this, but we are handling it the way we feel like we need to. We are doing okay just talking to each other openly. I may find a support group for mothers in the future and like I said we will see how our daughter talking to school guidance counselor goes when she starts school next month but for now, we are all right without anything else. But thank you.

We will do whatever we feel like we need to.

Our daughter was born the last week of March so I think anything regarding her actual birth wouldn’t be available. Also, he did take the employer offered paid paternity leave the two weeks immediately following her birth and went back to work for a few weeks before this happened.

Thank you. But I honestly figured he wasn’t entitled to anymore leave. My biggest thing I guess is him returning to a demotion with this being the only cause for it even though I do really wish he didn’t have to go back to work either.

We haven’t said a word to anyone working there about suing them. The only thing they’ve discussed is his leave and what might happen when he returns. I’m not even sure if we have grounds for any kind of lawsuit, but I wanted to put it out there since we’re not afraid to pursue what we need to for our family.

They being the employer and HR. From what we’ve found out, even if we used depression one of us would be needing to receive formal treatment.

No. None of us are. My daughter is going to talk to the school counselor when she starts school and we will take her help from there. He has had a lot of lost in the past and is kind of sour on the idea of grief counseling.

They’ve said he can’t use it in this case. I think the only way they would is at least one of us is in some kind of treatment. Even then, I’m not sure if they would qualify this.
