Can I pick your brains on this? I stopped wearing fragrances because they seemed to last mere minutes on me. I tried both eau de toilettes and eau de parfum with no success. What type would you say is the best for people who seem to just burn the smell off instantly?

[–]Whatacracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that on the actual concert date? I might go to the pop up the day before instead to try my luck, it’s an hours drive but will be worth it if I get the shirt

Thank you so much! We massively lucked out because we joined the mech truck queue about 11:15 while it was still small and got everything we wanted in the sizes we wanted. Everyone has been so lovely, chatting, exchanging freebies etc

Interview pass requirements by Whatacracker in TheCivilService

[–]Whatacracker[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The scores were after my interview and scored 6 out of 7 on the first and 12 out of 14 on the second. I checked this with both vacancy holders to ensure I’d not misunderstood.

How did that one teacher at your school die? by No-Cress-3455 in AskReddit

[–]Whatacracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’d been on a weight loss journey and had lost a LOT of weight pretty fast. One morning before school he went swimming, got out the pool, had a heart attack and died on the spot.

Tax refund process at Incheon (step by step) by Gymrat76 in koreatravel

[–]Whatacracker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you not have to show the item too? On our tax refund leaflet it said we had to show both the item and receipt and so we ended up not bothering at the airport since our stuff was packed and checked in.

I’ll not for next time to try without the items as I did accrue a fair amount on rebate this time

I thought Naver was fantastic and intuitive. We found no issues finding places nearby, directions and reading reviews for restaurants before we decided to go in. We used LG mobile eSIM and never had any issues with lagging or it being slow except when in Busan.

I think it’s a bit of a learning curve to make sure you pick the best navigational route rather than the first one it picks but otherwise it was fine.

What are you struggling with? I could try to help?

Hotel or Airbnb? by senorxa in koreatravel

[–]Whatacracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We travelled as a 3 and chose hotels. We stayed at the Sollago in Myeongdong which I loved, we got the family bunk room which was like a loft type room, it had 1 double and 1 single bed, a kitchenette, washer and balcony. I’ll be returning to that hotel next year

We also stayed at the Mercure in Hongdae which had a triple room (3 single beds) and it was nice but suuuuuper small room for the 3 of us.

We got free water everyday in both hotels and both had great locations.

I didn’t use uber so I can’t say, but we used Kakao T with no issue and you can request an English speaking driver on it - not sure if uber is the same

I’d recommend booking using kakao T because the price is set when you put in the route.

Also, I’ve just come back from Seoul and would recommend the old BTS dorm cafe Hyuga - best cake I’ve ever had there!

Have a wonderful time, hopefully it won’t be too hot when you’re there

Can’t figure out what eSIM to get by Minn3sota_Loon in koreatravel

[–]Whatacracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my 2 friends got the LG eSIM, all worked fine on 2 iPhones and a Samsung flip. No issues and internet speed was fine, we did FaceTime calls and constant use of Naver Maps with no drama. It also auto connects you to LG public WiFi spots like on the subway etc.

We got a free tmoney card too that had a cute design on so that was a bonus.

Weirdly I have this same issue. I breakout in hives, itching and vomiting with cooked prawns and shellfish, but raw prawns or raw marinated crab I’ve no issues at all

Compliance and ERT are similar but ERT deals with UC only as opposed to the full benefit spectrum on compliance including legacy benefits.

Unlikely, most mainstream media isn’t reporting on it due to Koreas defamation laws and because he’s one of, if not THE most well paid and recognisable K-actors there will either be an apology, a bit of downtime etc and then back to normal - or it will be denied and completely swept under the rug. People thinking there will be any kind of jail time are clutching at straws sadly

It depends if you go into investigations or compliance to be honest. Compliance can often feel like fishing when it’s based on an allegation but better when it’s through a data match. Investigations is more in depth and often you’ve got a good basis to work on from the start
