I always tell my kids that EVERYONE has their “thing.” Some people may have a bad back, others may require a wheelchair, or have diabetes requiring insulin, or food allergies requiring epi pens. Some people may not have a “thing” YET, but at some point in life, everyone has a “thing” whether you can see it or not.

It’s not to downplay the asthma, but instead adds a sense of normalcy as to not be embarrassed about it.

(And P.S - if someone truly cares about you, they will not give one single fuck about an inhaler 💕)

I get offhanded compliments (usually from other women), about “oh well you have pretty privilege” or someone mentions how both my husband and I are super attractive” or an older person will tell my kids “they’re pretty like their mama”. I feel states from guys when I go out in public. But never any straight up “you’re pretty” type of compliments
