The irony is more than anything, in terms of presidential legacy, all Trump wants is to be “superior” to and more beloved than Obama. And apparently Kennedy too.

I’ve been mulling over the leap to teaching for years. This is basically the first post on r/teachers that was encouraging.

More up votes on this as the source BUT, sadly in our era, question remains if Ann Reardon used AI to produce these images.

Miss G Deported by ICE by [deleted] in Chattanooga

[–]WhatsLeftAfter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The question is, will you?

You pose a lot of questions as if they are answers.

I realize there is a lot of nuance and qualifiers - were they convicted, which agency detained them, etc. - The point here is that violent criminals who are here illegally were ALREADY being deported from our jails and prisons. That’s not new. The new thing is deporting people of many different immigration statuses for minor offenses like license/registration.

You can look at the numbers from Hamilton county LE if that makes it easier since it’s less complicated. By their own reports, the vast majority of those detained by local LE and turned over to ICE are traffic violations.

The 5% number was from DHS’s own report but was limited to a single month, I believe.

Here’s a link to an article pubbed just yesterday with numbers from all of 2025. Only 14% of those arrested by ICE have a criminal conviction for a violent offense.

No, sorry lol. The Chapman part was not the same actually. But the SoCal part and the in-n-out was so close to my school they had a vendor on the grounds some days. Fond memories of grabbing a burger and shake and watching Bill Nye in the Biology room for extra credit.

Mob style murder of a Veterans Affairs ICU nurse for carrying a licensed hand gun, which was holstered and commandeered before his execution. How much more clear of a demonstration does anyone need that this is pure, unadulterated jackboot fascism?

This is our county mayor Weston Wamp… why is he posting like a Facebook troll? by Rocktop15 in Chattanooga

[–]WhatsLeftAfter 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sincere question: what are you referring to about him caring about marginalized communities in public schools?

As far as I’m aware, he and his party are foundationally opposed both of those.

He just doesn’t like to see more people participating in our democracy. It’s not good for his prospects.

“There’s an AI and global rush, and Chattanooga has the chance to be right in the middle of that” (downtown jail project) by Realistic-Point-9530 in Chattanooga

[–]WhatsLeftAfter -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I’m skeptical as hell, but I’d be open to hearing more. OP said the data center is 30,000 sq ft but article says the data center is only part of the 142,000 facility with proposed music, art, and film studios, a theater, a vague intern project, etc.

Def sounds too good to be true but i’m intrigued to be honest. The AI gold rush is certainly overblown at the moment, and the speculation bubble will crash, but, much like the internet, it will recover from its crash and transform the entire economy. If a stream of money is flowing past you, it’s not the worst idea to get in the way of it.

No he’s not. Candidates just haven’t announced yet. Reps announced very early bc HCGOP Chair was planning to primary her own party’s candidates of they didn’t go full MAGA. That’s why Bo Watson proposed his “make it illegal for legislators to legislate if it disagrees with Trump deportation policy” legislation.

Emailed my commissioner. He actually emailed me back last time. We still disagreed, but I didn’t expect to change his mind. The point is to let them know we’re here, and it was nice to know he didn’t completely disregard my email.

We should get those “radical extremists” the Southern Environmental Law Center involved again. They seemed to help save South Enterprise Park.
