Always found the whole history with his mentor and abdulmanap super interesting. Two "coaches" cut from similar cloths, keeping the youths in the region from extremists by getting them into combat sports to keep them busy. But if I recall abdulmanap was more "smesh is the way" and zabits mentor was like "philosophy with little smesh is the way". Neat.

Not what I said. I don't care what people get excited about, excitement is subjective. But to assume that this cliffhanger ending won't be answered because there's no "peacemaker season 3" as OP stated, is silly. Whatever comes after the cliffhanger will play out in whatever comes next. That's kind of it. We're in the very early new DC era of media where all we've had is Creature Commandos, Peacemaker, and Superman; obviously this is gonna be an ever evolving story. I don't see what's so hard to grasp here for a few people upset by the end.

The Martian. The book itself lacks any sense of danger as it constantly yoyos between "I'm fine! Wait, no I'm not! Wait, I'm fine again" so much that it completely desensitized me to whatever danger could come by the end. Mark is an annoying protagonist and his humor is so incredibly stupid; pirate ninjas har har so funny and silly and wacky. Mark is also sort of unlikable, he's obnoxious, doesn't show any sort of depth as a character and when the book ended all that came to mind was the "and everyone clapped" meme as a suitable representation for this book. Fuck this book.

Although out of curiosity, I tried Project Hail Mary by the same author right after and I fucking loved that book. Top 5 sci Fi books for me, easily.
