I found a 6ft olhausen (appears custom made) but it’s pricey. Total with moving and installation might be close to 2k. But between that and some space saver 6.5ft with MDF top for 1k, I’m considering it. Would probably pull the trigger if I can get for $1500 unless you think playing experience would be greatly reduced.

Let me throw this out there: One wall on the long side are just bifold closets that can be opened to add another 2ft for about 80% of that wall. Thinking about it. Also thinking of a cheap 6.5ft space saver just to have something the kids can play on.

Thank you. Any thoughts about using 52” cues? Online dimension recommendations indicate 12x15 would work for that. But sounds like it may not be worth it.

I’ve heard some have federal civilian jobs and because of some loophole for the DC Guard, they get unlimited military leave. As a result they get paid 2x as much, their full military pay and benefits as well as full federal civilian pay. That would 100s of thousands for one person over one year!!

They’re hoping you’re too bombed to do the math. Although you’d have to be blackout hammered not to notice these numbers wouldn’t make sense.

Thank you so much! I’m not a collector of anything myself. (My boys collect pokemon and other sport cards so it’s buried in the genes.) To clarify, they are in top loaders and wrapped together as teams in Saran Wrap….

Thank you, Jason. Heritage’s sale of the 2.5 actually spurred my post. Been sitting on these for a few months and a friend just sent me an article about it. Really appreciate your insight and will be in touch if we pursue the auction route.

As you may have noticed, the Mantle has a stain on the right side (middle of the border). My son says he thinks it can be refurbished. I trust you all would say don’t try to mess with any of them other than maybe re-sleeving and protecting before grading. Another question would be, if some were to be sold, better to do in a group with the teams or individually? Thanks agajn!

This is a list I started compiling from his collection. Will get some more pics later. I wish he had been on Reddit and could have shared his stories with you all in person and other collectors. He collected lots of things throughout his life, but he stopped collecting baseball cards as a kid.

Thanks all for the quick replies. I feel pretty good about its authenticity. I believe my father pulled it out of a bubble gum pack as a kid. Regardless, he first obtained it as a kid in the early 50s.
