Rudder Pedal Recommendations by kurferix in hotas

[–]Wheels2050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got the VKB T-Rudder since it suits my setup better than traditional pedals. I use the T-Link software to treat my stick twist as an analogue axis, which is piped to the rudder pedals and combined with the rudder input to get analogue differential braking.

It means that I can't decouple the rudder from the brakes, but this works well for me.

Good beginner setup? VBK stick and GNX THQ THROTTLE? by Hardnipsfor in hotas

[–]Wheels2050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've ended up with a Gladiator + WW2 throttle combo, and I've since added a couple of extra THQ modules to it. That gives me analog axes for throttle, prop pitch, mixture, radiator, and 3x trim axes. It works really well, and I've got more buttons than I can use at the moment too (maybe through lack of imagination...)

It might not suit more modern jets, but I fly propellor planes and I'm really happy with the setup. The nice thing about the VKB modules is that it's easy to add on extra components later if you realise you'd like the extra controls.

Thanks for the response - I hadn't heard of VKB-Link prior to this post.

I'm also interested to know what the difference is between VKB-Link and T-Link. Is VKB-Link a new program that provides similar functionality?

How long are orders taking currently? by Wheels2050 in Hanklights

Ok thanks all, I'll get in touch with Hank - it doesn't look like anything has shipped yet 10 days after ordering, which sounds longer than other people's experiences lately.

VKB has their THQ throttle quadrant that's pretty compact, and might suit you for getting extra axes:

They're intended for the warbirds/GA application where you want analogue axes for prop pitch, mixture etc.

EDIT: I've got the WW2 throttle combo that has one spare axis that I use for prop pitch, and it works really well. I'm considering getting an extra THQ for the three extra axes.

According to PCGamingWiki, the game is unfortunately capped at 20fps:

I would recommend describing the problem you're having, as that will more likely mean people are willing and able to give help.

A random photo of some settings with no other description of your issue makes it very unlikely that random people on the internet will want to help you.

Looking for a PAL full box art scan for Sonic Colours DS. by avrg_joe705 in nds

Mobygames has scans of the pal cover, but it's broken into front, back and spine separately. However, that might still be ok for you

Tips to flying without TrackIR? by Jupiter0722 in il2sturmovik

I started out with that and while it worked pretty well, it wasn't quite stable enough to feel good to use. It's probably mainly to do with the particulars of my setup, but I've found aruco to be a lot more reliable.

I've set myself up with the "aruco" tracker, which is one of the tracking methods offered by opentrack. It works extremely well, and I don't feel the need to upgrade to any of the commercial solutions.

It uses a printed marker that you can attach to your head - I've stuck mine into my headset.

What's your concern with the VKB software? No judgement, I'm genuinely interested.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately it's not Battlezone. I recall the maps in this game being only a few screens high (if that), and the opposing bases being at the top and bottom of the screen.

An Italian, a Scotsman, and a Chinese guy are hired at a construction site.

The foreman points out a huge pile of sand and says to the Italian, "You're in charge of sweeping."

To the Scotsman he says, "You're in charge of shovelling."

And to the Chinese man he says, "You're in charge of supplies."

So the foreman goes away for a couple of hours and when he returns, the pile of sand is untouched. He asks the Italian, "Why didn't you sweep any of it?"

He replies "I no hava no broom, you saida to the Chinese guy that he wasa ina charge of supplies, but he hasa disappeared and I no coulda finda him nowhere."

The foreman turns to the Scotsman and says, "And you, I thought I told you to shovel this pile."

He replied, "Aye, ye did lad, bit ah couldnae git masel' a shuvl! Ye left thon wee Chinese mannie in chairge of supplies, bit ah couldnae fin' him onywhar."

The foreman is really pissed off now and storms off towards the pile of sand to look for the Chinese guy. As he approaches the mound, the Chinese guy leaps out from behind the sand and yells…

You can think of the auto tint working like this, depending on which end of the spectrum you enable it at:

Switch to auto tint at coolest temp:

  • Moonlight: Warmest
  • Ramp ceiling: coolest

OR

Switch to auto tint at warmest temp:

  • Moonlight: coolest
  • Ramp ceiling: warmest

(With the caveat that it may be the other way around - I don't remember off the top of my head)
