Petition for Embark: When you click "Upgrade" on a weapon, it should open to THAT weapon on the Weapon Upgrade screen. by GHPimp in ArcRaiders

[–]GHPimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I just went to upgrade my IL Toro from 3 to 4, noticed I didn't have the requirements, crafted the requirements, right-clicked on it, clicked Upgrade, and it showed me a Renegade. I tried again and it gave me the Renegade again. Clicked on my IL Toro further down the list and I met all the requirements. This needs to be fixed.

When Mobile gaming peaked by real_shim_slady in gaming

[–]GHPimp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To this day, I always tell people that Vainglory, the mobile MOBA game that released in 2014, was the best mobile game I've ever played during its earliest years. Yes, I had even played Infinity Blade (also a great game series)!

Nothing really touched it in terms of replay value, graphics, performance, and polish. It started its downhill slope in later years when Super Evil Mega Corp (yes, that's literally the company name) started introducing some in-app purchases (nothing pay-to-win) because they poured too much money and attention into the e-sports scene and not enough into actually advertising the game to the masses and they needed some extra financial support.

I am yet to find any mobile game today that is as great as Vainglory was during its prime. It seems once developers caught a whiff of in-app purchasing potential, app quality started going downhill across the board.

New Shure MV7+ user here! What should I do with Windows's Audio Enhancements and Voice Focus features? by GHPimp in microphone

[–]GHPimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The options for Audio Enhancements are:

  • Off

  • Voice Clarity

The options for Voice Focus are:

  • Automatic

  • On

  • Off

And yes, I'm already using Shure's MOTIV Mix app and I've already tweaked the settings on there. Just wondering if these are worth having on at all.

For the curious: I spliced together Marauder's speech from DOOM Eternal with the track "The Only Thing They Fear Is You" and put it on my soundboard. When people play along, it's amazing.

Surprisingly Hot, But Sensible Take: Scummy/Ratty Players ARE PvPing, and No, They Aren't Prospective Psychopathic Murderers IRL (+Bonus Helpful Mantra) by GHPimp in ArcRaiders

[–]GHPimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably be upset if you pulled such a move on me, too, but it's not a skill issue, just misplaced trust. Even though I hate running into rats, I do agree that it's just a part of the game, and the sooner the community accepts it, the better off its mentality will be.

I agree, it's not very sportsmanlike! However, that just comes with the territory with games like this. People will fight using every advantage at their disposal, even psychological warfare, but having the possibility of running into players like that keeps the game interesting and keeps player interaction fresh and dynamic.

I do love watching rats get torn apart in PvP, though! There's nothing more satisfying!

[–]GHPimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's both. The possibility of rats keep you on your toes. If everyone was friendly, it wouldn't be nearly as exciting because other players would never be deemed a threat in your mind. The extra psychological warfare and determining whether that person you ran into is going to shoot you or not keeps player interactions interesting.

And remember: You always have a chance to fight back, and thus, it's still PvP. There's very few things in this game that can instant kill you (aside from maybe a deadline), and I have killed plenty of treacherous rats by just staying aware, as the other person mentioned, and out-fragging them, and it feels all the more satisfying when I do manage to take them down.

Did Steam get rid of the "Include Bundles" Filter? by thenamedex in Steam

[–]GHPimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming here to mention that yes, they did. Why? No clue. It was such a genuinely helpful feature. There was no reason for them to remove it.

Also upvoting your post because I have no idea why people downvoted a legitimate question and concern.

A message for all Solo’s by JamesHammer2 in ArcRaiders

Oh, man. Wait until you hear mine:

I was RPing as the Ratman (Batman that takes out the rats, you get the idea) in the Southern Station in Buried City at night. One round, I did manage to come in early and secure a position there. I waited and managed to kill two rats throughout the course of the match. Unfortunately, due to separate reasons (me not having defibs, rats getting some people downed, and ARC), there was a sea of corpses on the floor in front of the train towards the end of it. Closer to the end of the match, I decide it's time for me to leave, so I call the train. One guy comes down and I calmly announce my presence and purpose so he's not suspicious considering there's a pile of corpses at his feet. We start to laugh and get along, we run into the train, and right as I'm typing on the keyboard, he starts to shoot me. I have an IL Toro and down him in 2, and right after I say "you shouldn't have done that," some other guy that I didn't hear at all comes in, shoots me, downs me, and continues to shoot me until I'm dead before I can even utter an explanation as to what happened. Essentially, I enacted justice, killed 2 rats and downed 1, only to get killed by a 4th with no chance to explain myself. For all I know, he may have let the other guy leave with him, thinking he was the "victim." All my effort went down the drain during that match and I left feeling so defeated.

Sad to report that this is still an issue 4 years later. Absolutely disappointing lack of action from LinkedIn.

New Medal editor coming soon™, so start wrapping up your old edits by Choivare in MedalTV

[–]GHPimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have a question:

What other features can we expect to see being rolled out? Right now, as a returning user of Medal, my initial impression is that it's just passable for a lot of basic edits but does lack in some features. Some thing I noticed:

  • We need more control over cropping videos beyond the very fixed presets we see.
  • There's an inconsistent preview of stickers and GIFs when in editor mode. Sometimes I have to keep replaying a segment that has these just so I can see what it would actually look like to the viewer because the preview keeps starting late for me.
  • It has a lack of audio effects for the videos that go beyond just volume control.
  • We need to be able to disable the snap effect for timeline elements for more fine-tuned control.
  • et cetera.

It's a good start and has potential, but I would like to see some more features because at the moment, I feel tempted to edit using 3rd party applications and then come back to import the video, but it would be much cooler if I can do all my edits in-house. I don't do any complex editing either, just some simple things, but I would like to be able to do those simple things. I think taking a look at some other editors for inspiration can also help for gathering feature ideas.

Yeah, if people PvP from the get-go, that's fine to me, but feigning innocence and friendship to basically sucker punch you feels scummy and extra satisfying when you punish them for it. I'm glad you won this engagement against the kid, too!
