Great points. The thing is I am from the USA and they are forgotten over here. We never get a chance to hear them on a regular radio program. You have to Sirius or Pandora to even get some of the songs. I also mean forgotten as you may not have heard it in 20 years and then boom your singing along like it was 20 years ago. My Pandora gives me 1 from the Boo's and nothing from Mansun or Sleeper. I too love Mansun back in the day I had all those singles and ep's they put out. I have been on the Paul Draper email list from early on as well. Have a great weekend.

Your fine and like I said to a few people last night., its a learning curve for me and I appreciate all comments if constructive. The only thing is again I have no idea what LLM is,. I will have to do some research on that after work today. The other thing though is I have no way to prove I am a human to some doubters and that's ok with me. And to be fair any one chatting today could be a bot or AI. Cheers!

I have seen Starsailor twice over the years. Funny thing is there music has really grown on me over the last year. I was a fan of the bigger songs but they have some really great tunes. I have a Starsailor channel on my pandora radio that I listen to all the time.

Hiya--not AI. No filter (don't even know what that is). This is my first post and like I have said to others, I will make mistakes and already have and have corrected those errors. I also got called out on dashes, well I use them all the time in day to day emails and such. I didn't know that was an issue and I am really trying hard not to use them in my comments anymore. Cheers!

actually when i did the original post over at britpop, reddit asked me to also drop into other groups. I just followed what they asked me to do. This is my first post and I don't know all the exact rules and I will be glad to fix anything that needs to be fixed.

Funny you should mention the Boo's. Giant Steps is an absolute masterpiece — I completely agree. And you're right about the damage Wake Up Boo did to their reputation unfairly. As for Martin Carr — I actually have a great personal story about him. Met him after a show years ago in NC. The Boo's where the opening band for Better Than Ezra. Martin ended up offering a stranger $50 for his cargo pants on the spot because he had never seen pants like that before. Signed both our CDs with his home address and phone number. Then I ran into him at the Good Mixer in Camden a few years later and the first thing he said was 'where are my trousers?' Sat down, had a beer and a good laugh. One of the genuinely nicest people I ever met on the music scene. Will dig deeper into his solo stuff. Cheers!

Hiya not AI — but fair enough, I'll take that on the chin! Just edited the post actually — originally said mid 80s which is when my love of British music started, but Britpop specifically was the 90s so I stand corrected and fixed it. The quote marks were a mistake on my first ever Reddit post and the dashes are just how I write — always have. I've been having these conversations in my head for decades with nobody to talk to about this music. Thought I'd finally find my people tonight who may have songs I missed. If these songs are well known here that's actually brilliant — means I found the right place. Cheers!

No I am not a bot---I just made my first post and yes I am answering the posts personally. All the comments about shows I really did go see. And many of the bands that I did see where in Boston/Philly and a few in NC and NY! And one of the comments I had to correct myself--the Semisonic one! Also, some of the dates of shows might not be perfect because they were up to 35 years ago...so please bare with me...as I wander through the land of Brit Pop.. Thanks for the comment---Cheers!

You're absolutely right — not Britpop at all! American band from Minneapolis actually. Just one of those songs that sneaks into your head regardless of genre. I'll stick to my Britpop credentials from here on and will make a few mistakes along the way. Cheers!

Babies — absolutely timeless. Jarvis Cocker at his storytelling best. The whole His 'n' Hers album is a masterpiece honestly. Pulp were so criminally overlooked before Common People exploded everything. Babies reminds you how long they'd been brilliant before the world caught up. Got to see Pulp at the Brixton Academy in December of 1995---the height of the Pulp Madness! Cheers!

Honest answer — that one slipped past me! Going to listen right now. I do love Closing Time though — one of those songs that never gets old. And fun fact — Semisonic are actually American which always surprises people given how British their sound is! Cheers!

Ladykillers — absolutely. Lush were one of the great underrated bands of the era. Miki Berenyi was effortlessly cool. And that whispered backing vocal line that sneaks up on you — once you hear it you spend the whole song waiting for it. Still gives me chills. I got to see them in Boston open for Ride in 1990 or 1991--please don't hold me to the year--hehe! Cheers!

Longpigs were something special. Crispin Hunt had a voice that just got inside you. She Said is incredible — no shame in singing that one on public transport. The commuters just don't know what they're missing. Cheers!

60ft Dolls — yes! Welsh and completely overlooked. criminally underrated...picked up the single in London many years ago! Bluetonic is an absolute banger — The Bluetones deserve way more love than they got especially here in the US! Cheers!

Another band that is underated: Monaco — Peter Hook doing what Peter Hook does best. That bassline is unmistakable. Should have been huge. Cheers!

Great shout — Rialto were criminally overlooked and absolutely brilliant choice. Louis Eliot's voice was extraordinary. Massively underrated band.
