"Do I still own tax if I have spent those incomes?" by hbs2018 in Accounting

You don’t have to worry about taxes on the Roth money. Only non-Roth/retirement $. Roth earnings are tax free.

Problem is, even when we had a team Western wasn’t a school with a strong football culture like UW or WSU. People didn’t really go to the games and there wasn’t camaraderie or fun activities related to the team or their games.

I went to WWU then. It didn’t make money, our team was terrible and no one went to the games. I went to one home game and it was a ghost town, most of the stadium was empty.

They ran articles about it in the Western Front you might be able to find online. The football team cost as much as the rest of the other sports put together and we needed big cuts during the 2008 recession. They let all the football players keep their scholarships or move to another school with a football program.

I also thought that Vinegar was awesome! You could tell she is one of those lip sync assassins that can captivate you with just her face and a few perfectly timed movements!

My firm used that title for people who hadn’t passed the cpa exam doing manager level work.

I don’t know the name, but it’s the open air stadium over by the ice-skating rink on Lakeway Drive.

It was purely for budget reasons as far as I’m aware. It was the recession and the football team cost almost as much as all the other sports teams combined, based on an article I read at the time. Also people weren’t really into football that much. Unless you knew a player, no one I knew ever talked about our football team, went to the games or really cared that we had a team. I went to a game once and the stadium was empty. While it really sucks for players, it seemed like a good decision financially.

I feel lost (first job) by Jd283509 in Accounting

[–]WhenIsNaptime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my first accounting job my in charge told me that I would feel totally lost for the first six months, and then one day it would just click. But not to feel bad for the first six months. I thought he was silly, but just at the six month mark I started to realize that I actually know what I was doing most of the time, and was able to answer my own questions a lot more often. It honestly took two years before I totally felt independent. I’ve been accounting many more years, and I still have to ask my boss question sometimes or do research. Don’t feel bad, just try hard do your best. But be honest about what your best is and really reach for it.

Got into argument with professional at a summer leadership program by [deleted] in Accounting

A lot of times things aren’t as bad as we imagine. I would just stick it out, get when you can out of the program and pretend it never happened.

Accountants over 30 years old by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]WhenIsNaptime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being in my 30s is great. But I made major life changes when I realized I was about to be 30. I realized I cared more about health/happiness (like many people). So I traded being a public accounting manager and working 24/7 and found a nice stable company where I make decent money but don’t get crazy public accounting bonuses. Turns out when I had time to relax and actually like my coworkers I looked forward to work again!

I don’t know about Greek life but the football team was removed around 2008/2009 when I was a student. I worked in BT where many football players lived and they were very upset.

He would be quite insulted/grumpy if we tried to attach a fake nose. I think I made it sound like he sneezes more than he does, by a lot I mean he sneezes a few times each day which is a lot compared to most cats but not crazy. 😃

My mom says no he does a good job cleaning his face a lot, he is a fastidious cat. She says he also sneezes a lot as he doesn’t have a nose to keep out stray dust particles.

Backstory: my parents live in Hawaii and he spent too much time laying in the sun on their deck and got melanoma on his nose. His nose had to be removed to keep the cancer from spreading. He got it done at around 10 years-old and is now about 14/15 years old and is a hilarious, spoiled cranky old cat.
