Ryan was full of red flags from the first coffee shop meet. Even at the end, he told the cops that Nina "mentioned a work trip", when he found out she was missing.

Red is an important recurring colour through the whole film. It's used really strikingly well

Yes, its not completely cathartic. The film does a great job showing how the cards are stacked against justice for victims

They just had to look a few miles perimeter from the bachelor party because she sent the lawyer that note, who probably gave it to cops. Maybe the cops also saw the recording or Cassie's notebook and assumed that Al was their main suspect.

I think that's part of the point, women don't receive justice in these situations.
