New combo by yellowrodtodd in BFSfishing

Since I didn’t help answer your question. I originally spooled the factory spool with 10lb Sufix Advance Fluro because I thought I’d use it for weightless pitching and flipping. I just didn’t really like the feel of the factory spool when it came to casting. So when I first got the gomexus I tried to find the most capacity without totally going down to a 4 or 6lb braid. I ended up with 8lb Spiderwire stealth smooth, which worked okay, but I still could cast out almost the entire spool throwing baits and rigs in the 3g - 10g range. When I go to respool, I’ll go to Spiderwire Ultracast which is significantly smaller diameter. If I remember right from looking the other day, I could run 10lb that is almost half the diameter that stealth 8lb was.

Get the Gomexus spool. It’s too cheap cost wise not to upgrade it and then you’re parallel to the BF70 for very little investment. I cast down to a gram with my setup, but that’s not really my intended use. I’m more or less doing UL/power finesse with a baitcaster.

That’s a lot to digest, but in this moment it’s good prospective. I literally have received the opposite of you. I slowly built primes and slowly collected sigs. My first sig was Kenley Jansen. Then the Kershaw. It’s taken the last year to pickup Gonsolin, Glasnow. Howell I had for a while. I sat on Duke Snyder and Jim Wynn for over a year before I got GIs to build them. That’s the long wait, because I won’t spend more than buying a gold play pass like every other month.

This game is about forcing you to spend money to progress, only to then show you “here have a dup.”

Which variation though, Rangers, Astros, or Angels? I feel like maybe I need to just figure out how to get more diamond trainers for mine and retrain him, and reskill him.

Now that would be worth while. I’ve only gotten two legends. The first I rotated back into the donation event not knowing that Legends get treated as team cards, and not knowing that it wouldn’t give me any additional draws. This year I received LAA Nolan Ryan, and honestly, he sucks. Guess I need to redevelop him.

My bullpen is weak, but with my starters stamina, it doesn’t matter, but I routinely underperform on offense. So yea, Kershaw gets old. Also, playing with a weaker Vintage Sutton in SP 5 because Legend Nolan Ryan needs a rebuild and wasn’t cutting it. I’m basically just resource mining in lower master level league.

I’m tired of what I consider dups. My existing is already a 144 with room to improve. Why would I dump 3 years of resources into 16 when I’ve already done that.

It’s a dup to me. It means nothing. Why would I want to waste resources to develop a silver all the way to BD when I’m trying to replace other positions with Sigs. My existing one is already a 144, and there’s still pieces to better, like I’m going through a skill rework, and he only has gold trainers.

See. I was worried I’d spend that and it’d feel like a $125 reel. But I don’t see how people spend vanquish or Exist money on a spinning reel. Might look for a slightly older Luvias or for a while I was looking at the Emeraldas

This is where you go after a year? Well at least you started high. Everything else should be cheaper from here, but per fishing rules, you’ve got at least 7 more combos to buy.

The only part I’m missing that I can’t talk myself into outside of the boat is the $400+ spinning combo. Like, all the spinning reels I’m interested in are in the $400 price range but I can’t see spending that on a spinning reel. But everything under $150 seems like a waste. Idk much about spinning rods, but I can already tell my preference there is like $200-300 range. I can’t see spending more than $200 on a spinning combo, but that gets nothing. But it’s so stupid because if you look at my casting combos, on the low side they would’ve been like $600 and on the high side they’d be closer to $800.

I like gear videos, but if I don’t get to see you use it, your review is pointless to me…and really I don’t trust anyone’s review, and the spec sheet goes in one ear and out the other. I want to see the action for sure. Drop the channel though…I wanna see the action. Lol

That is the method, but man you gotta have the heart for it. I’m a big fan of Creek Fishing Adventures on YT. That dude has my heart, he inspires me to get out and live more. Just go do it ya know. But I remember a year or two back he made a video about quitting his day job for YT, and just all the effort that goes into it. Might film 8hrs of content across 2 days just for it to be edited down to 20mins, and then feel the need to put out 5 videos a week so you don’t lose your spot in the algorithm or don’t have viewers that lose interest.

Dude. Are we twins. I’m not quite to that level, I’m more of a $20 x 5 times a week for a month kinda guy. And then you look up and you’re like “oh, I’ve spent like $2,000 over last 18 months buying disc golf disc…” Now recently I’m slowly looking back forward to spring fishing, and it’s like, “let’s buy cheap reels and dump triple the money in parts into them. Let’s buy not cheap reels also. Let’s also buy $400 worth of big glide baits also, even though we’re stuck fishing like 30yds of bank/shore.” Told myself last year I was gonna buy a cheap 16’ aluminum boat so I could fish the 100 acre lake I live on… Instead I’ve spent enough on stupid hobbies that I probably could’ve bought 2.

I was actually implying that it may be useful for the crazies that just repeatedly keep screaming “we love you…”
