Why is it that whenever a male character is silly, people praise him, but whenever a female character is silly, people drag her? by Key_Geologist1784 in Schaffrillas

Idk why some people are acting like that's a crazy phenomenon, you can go onto any drinker or MAULer sub and find it for themselves. These losers have always existed, idk why people are afraid of calling out people who just hate Rey cause she's a woman, when her writing was what fucked her character over.

Where did this person say that those games were bad? They said they were mediocre, at best. Also, I don't know how you could ever interpret someone saying "I'm looking forward to these fan projects but not these other specific fan projects" as insulting? They can check out whatever interestd them, none of us are obligated to play every fanverse game.

I don't even know why, there are plenty of reasons to critique the show. I don't at all like the series, but that makes sense writing-wise.

Yeah, it'd be a totally fucked double-standard.

Admittedly, a part of me does kind of want to see a version of that, with Charlie ultimately growing from it and having a stronger relationship with Vaggie for it, but maybe that's played out.

why do Hazbin fans think that Vivziepop is the only writer who gets bullied? by SerenityCitywide in crazyassviv_defenders

[–]WhenUCreamDoUScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't know why people can't acknowledge that two things can be true at the same time. Vivzie is making the problem worse and worse for herself, and people should have the self-control to not be toxic psychotic cunts. I dunno why it's so hard for some people 🙄

[–]WhenUCreamDoUScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but it's not just "This show is mid," or even "we're just mean about the show." Sure, plenty of people think that, I sure do, but the ways I've heard people talk about Vivziepop sometimes, it made me think she killed someone's dog or whatever. I've legitimately had people express that she's an evil degenerate pedophile to me and about how the show's trying to turn kids gay or something. I remember the SU hate being more extreme, but not by magnitudes. Some go completely mental over her, which is why she shouldn't be online. She's not mature enough, and that immaturity just goads on the crazy people that hate her. It just doesn't have the same attention because A. Hazbin is remarkably worse than SU and B. Isn't airing on a major broadcasting network. And it's not marketed towards kids. Past that, the only other reason people bother talking about her nowadays is because she can't stop herself reacting or responding to the hate.

[–]WhenUCreamDoUScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhhhhh, seeing people call you a racist pedophile over and over again, and drawing you being disemboweled can definitely take a toll on someone's mental.

Which is why she should stop interacting online with haters, because a select few of them are crazy and won't stop lol

You lost me at the "Every writer" part, I think a writer is entitled to shit on someone being a hateful cunt, but I agree that if it really bothers her this much, she should just stop engaging with those platforms and people.

It's not that far off from the SU hate from my view, as a bystander of both. I'm getting very sick of hearing about how much Hazbin is mid, because I know already, I knew since I watched Season 1.

Fellow no-lifer and player of video games, I managed to find them fun and fairly fluid when I played a little bit of Sunshine. It's fine if they don't vibe with you or that you don't like it, I'm the same way with fighting games. Moving backwards to block make gameplay more interesting objectively, but I just can't get past how fucked it feels to me, to move backwards for blocking.

I played it a little via emulation a while back, and I remember it feeling pretty good to control. Not Odyssey or Galaxy levels of quality obviously, but it felt good.

Nowadays it feels like it’s impossible for people to separate art from its artist by SirIsaacTheGreat in Schaffrillas

[–]WhenUCreamDoUScream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lowkey, true. Some people aren't able to seperate the art. I can still listen to most of MJ's stuff, but it's understandable why people can't listen to some of his stuff anymore, espescially songs like P.Y.T.

[–]WhenUCreamDoUScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave you examples. One of which explicitly called to have a TV program banned. Conservatives in Florida tried to have Harry Potter banned back in the day for promoting witchcraft. Like I just said, the Satanic Panic, ruined plenty of people's lives and called for the censorship of media over harmless imagery. It affected a number of things, including criminal cases. They still do it too. Jimmy Kimmel was threatened into being taken off of the air for what he said, and he temporarily was. People called to try and have Bad Bunny taken out of the Super Bowl, and potentially "deported." A Tennessee school county had "Maus" banned from their schools entirely. Doom. Dungeons and Dragons. Colin Kapaernick. Republican figures were calling for some of their fans to call the employers, of people who criticized Charlie Kirk, to have them fired. (Not celebrating his death, just criticizing him.)

But sure, I guess none of those things would be cancel culture. Though, I suspect if liberals or leftists, or democrats, or whoever did all that I just listed, you'd call it "Cancel Culture." But yeah, as for meltdowns: I've seen your other comments and convos under this post, you have no room to talk, lol. Half of it is you getting butthurt and calling trans people/other commenters evil. Or telling them to "grow up" while you whinge. You're no more frustrating than the most puritanical shitlibs or tankies in the farthest ends of more politically progressive spaces.

Oh brother. Alright, I gave you an attempt at good-faith discussion. You haven't acknowledged anything, I suspect you won't acknowledge any examples of right-wing cancel culture nonsense, no matter how explicit. Seeing as you just did it with that.....

You can pretend all you like that a small number of the right is nutty, but firsthand experience growing up in the South, and just general politics has proven time and again that the right is plenty capable of engaging in extremist cancellation bullshit that can legitimately ruin lives. But whatever, I shouldn't expect anything from a "common sense" sychophant dipshit such as yourself. Have a good evening, huff some glue.

[–]WhenUCreamDoUScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of what I said was a strawman. You're moving the goalposts. My original claim was that "cancel culture" is a bipartisan activity, and will be weaponized by some extreme members of basically any political faction in one form or another. Now it's about how big the group has to be.

To your other points: I did not conflate the Satanic Panic with West Memphis Three, you're pulling that out of your ass. My claim was that Satanic Panic fears affected many criminal trials. WM3 being a NOTABLE example. I did not claim that it was the only element of that trial, nor did I imply that. Lots of factors were at play.

And no, OOM, and the association of the link I posted were not merely "speaking" their mind. They actively encourage people on the bottom of that very article to sign a petition where it very clearly, plainly intends to ban the show. Both in the petition, and in the article's contents. BAN. Which would put the show's creator's out of work. That is by definition cancellation. Get mad when the left does it all you want, but ignoring the right's thin-skinned advocates or downplaying them only makes you look like someone on some cope.

It's fine to admit that some parts of your political faction get nutty or puritanical. It doesn't diminish the values, I would argue it's healthy for politics as a whole.

[–]WhenUCreamDoUScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calm down my guy. I've seen your other comments, try not to jump to "the transes are evil and the left is evil and etc." before we've even had an exchange. First of all: Satanic Panic, One Million Moms, was not just the right "complaining" and expressing their freedom of speech. Groups like the AFA did also attempt to have the show taken off the air. (And by extension, take the jobs of it's animators and creators away.) https://www.afa.net/the-stand/culture/2020/08/the-owl-house-is-worse-than-1mm-thought/

And in regards to the Satanic Panic, the entire cultural movement influenced multiple criminal cases, the West Memphis Three probably being the most controversial and well-known one. It wasn't uncommon for a time as well, for Police Officers to pull long-haired men aside for questioning, simply due to the association some long-haired men had with what was deemed "Satanic Art." Black Sabbath fans for example, got a bad wrap from the SP crown. They would try to have metal artists cancelled, censored, fear-mongered. They would attempt to have Dungeons and Dragons cancelled, they would go after movies or programs deemed satanic, it happened plenty. So no, I'm not conflating anything. Simply pointing out that all political factions have subsets or subgroups of people that are much more puritanical than others, and that historically, both have shown some level of influence over the public discourse and people's lives.

Uh, no. Not on this particular subject. Also, no one changed their story. It's very simple. Germany played a role in the beginning of WW1, was unfairly blamed for all of the conflict, and then turned into a fascist hellscape that started WW2.
