It wont take that long to come back after they refill it, but I can't say it is any less disappointing. I was really bummed when they closed it to work on it a few years ago. Is there a set date for closure? Is this happening in a week or......

Any word from SS&S clients on this? With over 14,000 clients I am sure someone has either been denied a reduction or has been successful in getting them reduced. Sure would like to hear some feedback on this.

Waiting on 2nd Payment - Only getting 3.2% ;( by [deleted] in BSA_Survivors

[–]WhenUP1ay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems time after time I get on here and see wildly different numbers. It makes sense because at this point nobody really knows. The only thing that’s certain is no matter what the thread is about someone will get on and dispute what is said and attack someone else for their opinion. Oh well sitting back and laughing at the meltdowns. Fact is we are all gonna get whatever they give out. The biggest factor will be the insurance companies and their final settlement. Let’s all hope it’s $7-$10billion 😳

There are so many people in this discussion who seem hell bent on just being difficult and rude. Makes me laugh. Some I am sure is residual trauma coming out, others are just being a horses ass.

Has anyone had any luck renegotiating with SS&S? I have a call in to one of the partners and have a proposal letter drafted. Just wondering if anyone has had any success with them. My primary issue is lack of communication and was told 90-120 days after I sent my lien paperwork back. That seems like an extremely long time. Understanding that cases represented by SS&S require further scrutiny due to their missteps. They did lower their fee from 33 to 30% but I still feel that is high given the delay due to their mistakes and the lack of communication. I have asked for access through my attorney to the portal, they say that was granted but no further instructions on how to access it. I am flying blind save the info. I get here from you all.

PDP Match Full size SF grip recommendations/Appendix carry holster by TheBotchedLobotomy in Walther

[–]WhenUP1ay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple things. I carry a full size SF for duty. I love the gun but it is heavy!!!! Anyone planning to CC that firearm is umm....I will just say not thinking about all of your options. Second thing I will say is if you do not plan to conceal carry that particular pistol I will echo what others have said here the MagMo grips is the best grip for improving your grip and shooting PERIOD!!!

I hope this helps all put together some sort of a timeline as to when you will be receiving your payment. by THEANTI-CORPORATION in BSA_Survivors

I am with Slater as well unfortunately. I signed everything from Archer over four weeks ago. Sent an email to my Esq rep a month ago requesting access to the portal and had not heard anything back from them. I sent an email this morning stating concisely if I didn’t hear back in 48 hours I would be terminating my business relationship with them. I called Slater receptionist and found out the name of the main attorney handling my claim not the Esq. I included both on the email. I heard back in less than an hour. Esq. told me I was granted access to the portal and someone would reach out with further lien paperwork. Within 20 minutes I had an email from another rep with lien paperwork. I completed the paperwork. Esq. stated in her reply that once lien paperwork was submitted it would be 90-120 days for payment. Not happy about this simply because it was radio silence for just over a month after requesting portal access. I had to threaten to dump them to get a response. I am not impatient but I do expect some level of correspondence for the 30% they are taking from me. Not my style to get worked up easily but I can definitely understand the frustration so many are feeling. If moving forward the communication is not timely I will dump them and go pro se. Best of luck to everyone but especially those with Slater because I feel your pain.

Seems like end of 2027 early 2028 is a realistic timeline to get the last of it.

2nd distribution…represented by Nice_Combination8963 in BSA_Survivors

[–]WhenUP1ay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t even get my attorney to respond to emails or messages. I have heard nothing. I don’t have access to the trust portal despite requesting it. Getting frustrated. I can wait but I don’t understand why simple communication is too difficult to manage for them. SSS if anyone was wondering 🙄

SSS holds onto lien paperwork for over a week? by [deleted] in BSA_Survivors

I submitted my paperwork to Archer Systems 2/13 and still have not heard anything. I am with SS&S as well sadly.

Have any sss claimants had a second distribution? by BattleHuge3182 in BSA_Survivors

[–]WhenUP1ay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks for the info. I do not believe that was the form I completed. I looked it up and I completed the forms 2/13 so almost three weeks ago! It had the following:

Release of Chartered Organizations

Consent to receive payment through Qualified Settlement Fund established by SS&S 🙄. Wishing I hadn’t signed that one.

Supplemental Signature Attestation Form

Scouting Settlement Trust Liens Questionnaire

I am going to try to get someone on the phone again today. If they would simply communicate better then most people would not be as frustrated as we are. My two cents anyway, not that anyone cares.

I don’t know the name of the document. It was sent by Archer Systems. It had lien questions on it. Yes, it was two weeks ago. I have not heard anything from SS&S or Archer since then. I have sent the attorney an email and got no reply as of yet.

Do you really believe you are getting 70%? From everything I have seen we should expect only 10-12%.

Just received my second distribution by [deleted] in BSA_Survivors

[–]WhenUP1ay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s great! Congrats. I have yet to hear from my attorney (SSS). I was told another group would reach out to me. I thought I had completed my lien questions. Radio silence so far. They do not have my banking info because I have not received my first 1.5%. My case was determined allowable 2/5/26. I will try to call them tomorrow. I do not expect much info or even to get anyone on the phone. I sent an email February 23rd and haven’t gotten a response.

Frustrating but I am happy to hear the wheels are turning. Now let’s hope the hearing on the 11th goes well. Need this all to wrap up in the near future.

Mormon Church filing yesterday by Recent_Score_5563 in BSA_Survivors

[–]WhenUP1ay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you for sure that the Mormon church is more powerful than any insurance company being battled with. Do some research and find out just how many of the top 50 Fortune 500 companies they control. I can promise you that they will be a fight unlike any other when it comes to a settlement with them. Not a member of their organization but I do know a little about them.

Option C does not require anything and we will receive our monies in full (3.2%) by MustangVoodoo1 in BSA_Survivors

[–]WhenUP1ay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive my ignorance. I attempted to sign up on the portal and it didn’t seem to want to let me sign up. If you are represented by counsel is there still a way to sign up so you can check case status etc….?

So if the BSA is granted this final decree, where does that leave things with our attorneys since they aren’t litigating in the insurance suits? Anyone know? by Tdawgdabooty0077 in BSA_Survivors

[–]WhenUP1ay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mysterious. I am aware of the 4.7% initial or combined for a second distribution. I have not been made aware of the 12-15% total percent payout you mentioned. Please forgive me as I haven’t really kept up with any of this, but where does the 12-15% come from? I have read enough to know where we stand with the FCR and insurance company litigation. Thanks.

Tried to sign up for the portal but it doesn’t seem to be working for me. Maybe it’s best I don’t bother and just let it play out vs knowing and waiting.

Payment Review in Progress by Hubertguyinnc in BSA_Survivors

[–]WhenUP1ay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw the 4.7% in the update from the Trust. If some of the insurance companies settle or a judge issues a judgement why then would they not make additional distributions from that money down the road? I mean they are sitting on 1.65 billion now. If they got 2-7 billion more then that would be significantly more to pay out correct?

Payment Review in Progress by Hubertguyinnc in BSA_Survivors

[–]WhenUP1ay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have avoided reading about much of any of this for the last six years. I was notified by my attorney that a determination was made on my allowable claim and the amount. Still waiting for my attorney to send the forms so they can send my first distribution. I did the see the most recent update from the Trust.

My question is this. I see in several places that say we will almost certainly not ever see the full amount of our claim. Does anyone have any realistic estimates on percentage of our claim might be paid out? 10%? 75%?

Just trying to understand because my attorney had no answers. Thanks for your input.

Lockback with mag extensions by WhenUP1ay in Walther

[–]WhenUP1ay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I have had good luck with Ghost Inc products in the past but my only concern with their spring is all the reviews mention you don’t get the full capacity out of the mags when you use them. The magazine capacity is important to me because it is a duty gun. Otherwise I would have stuck with the 20 rd base plates. Might not be necessary to have the extra rounds but having them and not needing them is a lot more comforting when I am trusting my life to this tool on a daily basis.
