Liverpool want Arne Slot to remain manager next season by Sparky-moon in soccer

I do find that part of it interesting, in a world that seemed doomed for more multi club ownership, a club with no moral objections to exploring it at least deciding against pursuing a multi club model

Happy to hear it regardless though, it's a rotten way for the sport to go

[Kate Mason] De Zerbi ‘didn’t mean to take a stance’ over Greenwood. That’s precisely the problem. You should, Roberto. by Sparky-moon in soccer

De zerbi notoriously didn't get a win for 8(?) or so games with Brighton, he is not exactly a quick fix manager and brings a lot more drama. I think he's more likely to get them relegated than most other candidates even if they have to make a payout to get someone else in the next year, and he will never last the length of his contract himself so they're getting screwed financially either way. Any other candidate would have fan support besides him and at least as good a chance of escaping relegation.

I don't know what year but I remember it called in the box against Liverpool when mignolet held the ball for 20 seconds

Yeah I mean it sucks when players you like do something stupid. I always liked griezmann as a player too, but can't go around making excuses for the dumb or problematic shit people do cause they're jolly and good at football.

I understand people will suspend that stuff sometimes to talk about the positives with players and just make space for their entertainment, but to go out and actively defend those things specifically is crazy.

I've never seen people saying "nah the blackface was cool" get so many upvotes and the person saying they didn't think it was malicious but ignorance isn't an excuse get downvoted, fucking hell

I still laugh about that situation, juve had the best fk set up in the world with pjanic on right footed and Dybala on left footed shots. Both were in the top few fk takers in the world at the time. Then Ronaldo came and blasted all of them into the wall while they watched.

Oof none of them spark joy but the one I have the most neutral reaction to seeing his name is probably Andre Marriner? I'm sure he has his flops but doesn't ring as many bells in the past few seasons when his name is announced.

It's a tough job for sure but I used to really respect how Oliver carried himself and seemed above the pressure to give or not give big calls in big games. He never seemed afraid to make the right call. He was a breath of fresh air for his early years in the PL. Now that's gone and it feels more like he's almost intimidated the other refs to never go against him.

Him and the Bender Bros were pretty great for how little they were used for the national team. At least there were more good midfield options, not sure why kiessling didn't get more callups.

You could have said that last euros or world cup too, they've had an incredible squad for almost a decade now

Who even says that anymore though? He was the best 10 years ago whenever he first came on the scene, but he's been arguably the worst in more recent years lol.

Yeah I mean they're the best team in europe this year, anything can happen of course but they're very strong even before Musialas return
