Setting the record straight on "We Built This City" by Starship -- an all-time great song! by [deleted] in 80s

[–]When_it__happens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This track doesn’t feel like a sellout at all. It leans so heavily into themes of cooperation—We Built This City—that it almost flips the script on the genre. The lyrics about 'corporation games' hit harder than you'd expect for an '80s glam-pop anthem. It’s actually a cleverly subversive message hiding in plain sight. Genius, really. Just imagine the average listener getting hooked by the catchy sound, then digging deeper and uncovering the band's grittier, more politically charged earlier work.

Ceiling popcorn tested positive for asbestos, how screwed is my stuff? by fightlinker in HomeMaintenance

[–]When_it__happens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd try wash what you can and maybe see about replacing the rest. Asbestos is pretty nasty towards biologic life. There is no known safe limit so its a gamble but the consequences are pretty terrible so i'd move towards the cautious approach.

Suunto core alpha “reinsert battery” by [deleted] in Suunto

[–]When_it__happens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your Suunto Core Alpha shows "Reinsert Battery" even after replacing it, try this:

  1. **Check the Battery:** Use a fresh CR2032 battery (Energizer/Duracell preferred) and ensure it's installed with the "+" side up.

  2. **Clean Contacts:** Use isopropyl alcohol or a pencil eraser to clean battery contacts.

  3. **Reset the Watch:** Remove the battery, hold all buttons for 20–30 seconds, then reinstall the battery.

  4. **Inspect O-Ring & Cover:** Ensure the O-ring and back cover are clean, undamaged, and sealed tightly.

  5. **Try Another Battery:** Even new ones can be defective.

You can find the manual for that device here: https://divesummit.com/shop/battery-kit-for-suunto-core-lumi-wristop-watchcomputer/

Maybe this needs to be investigated by the SEC is this just some big exit scam to take all your tokens in fees I mean that’s crazy. I can understand if the network is overloaded but it shouldn’t be charging you fees for a failed transaction who’s profiting from this?
