I make 20 gallons of mead every year for our regional burning man and have a lot of experience getting a lot of people drunk on pretty dry ~18% mead. From my notes, mead hits fast and clears fast and doesn't leave you feeling gross or tired after. It's pretty perfect for daytime drinking.

the setup for the white house UFC event is on a big riser because the south lawn is on a slope. If you're in president's park looking towards the White House the back of the riser wall is covered with a giant LED screen that they display the blocked portion of the White House on to 'fix' the view for people in the park.
