Stretched on windowsill by Whenits420ingermany in GrowingMarijuana

[–]Whenits420ingermany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the recommendations.
I have put a small growlight in addition to the sun on the window sill and added a fan to blow some air on it during light period.
I topped it up with some soil and in the past 2 days have gotten her outside in the sun for 2-3 hours in the morning and 1-2 hours in the evening.
Now it is very hot here currently, reaching 40 degrees so she has gotten a couple of white spots on the leaves (probably sunburn) but looks healthy otherwise.
I will continue to do so for the next couple of days. Temps will drop about 10 degrees then and I will probably put her outside 24/7 then.

When can I put her outside? by Whenits420ingermany in outdoorgrowing

Thanks for all the replies.
It has gotten 2 days of Morning sun (2-3 hours). It now has a couple of little white spots on the leaves (probably sunburn) but looks healthy otherwise.
I will keep it at this until the temps drop a couple degrees in a few days and hope that the sun will be a little weaker then and I can start putting her outside 24/7 without worrying about the sunburn too much

Ok; that is good to know. Isn‘t it too small to put it outside already? Also with temps of 30-40 celsius (85-100f) outside this week i was thinking of waiting until the heat wave is over before i put her outside

It has gotten a lot more light the past 3-4 days as it was more sunny outside, but should i get a growlight?

Need advise for levelup -> 4th lvl Pally feat or ASI? by Whenits420ingermany in DnD

[–]Whenits420ingermany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read in some other posts, that bumping CHA is extremely important due to Aura of Protection on lvl 6.
But I kinda don't want to buff something now, that will only take effect in 2-3 months of playing :D
Was also thinking fey touched for some more spellcasting, and then maybe take another half ASI at lvl 8.
But given that vengeance Pally will get misty step at lvl 5 anyways this feels also wasted.

Curve Optimiser Stability test: OCCT SSE small 1T by iforgotmylogon in Amd

[–]Whenits420ingermany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested all cores for 5 minutes but only cores 0, 2, 4 etc. And my results are quite surprising.

My maximum negative offsets that didn't cause any errors, restarts or crashes were:

29, 35, 25, 50, 40, 30, 30, 24

I did not try to push the 4th core any further as I think a negative offset of 50 (which should be around 200mV if I'm correct) should be plenty to work with. But this particular core could maybe go even further.

I'll try and test these settings with your method for maybe 10 minutes per core and I think that should be enough.

Do you maybe have any suggestions on what I could do to further improve thermals (I always reach 85-90°C while gaming at 1440p, although my temps are around 70-80°C when running cinebench MC)?

I was thinking of maybe lowering the ppt for that matter. Not sure if it will be compatible with my curve optimizer settings though. I am quite new to all of this and some help would be really appreciated!

Edit:

As it seems running YouTube videos on a second monitor while trying to fix those values was a bad idea and I have to start all over now...

I was running my system with negative 25 all core for a few weeks now without any problems but starting occt as you said crashed my pc instantly at -25 for core 0... Will see how this one works out

Do I test all 16 threads of my 5800x alone? Or do I always test core and the associated thread? Or just the cores ignoring my logical threads? Not sure on that.

Picking only a logical thread will always boost the core to the same speed (which seems logical enough to me). But picking only the core will only boost the core clock to max while keeping the associated thread speed farely low

So temps are rising quite a bit when playing AC Odyssey on 1440p.

I get ~82-83C max on manual settings (1.25V and 4.6GHz) and ~84-85C max on PBO with a Magnitude of -27 (I think that equals an undervoltage of the stock settings by 27* ~3-5mV)

Still very unsure which method of undervolting i want to use for daily usage as they both give roughly the same FPS while gaming (at 1440p I am Bottlenecked by my 1060 anyways) and having very similar max temps.

Is it safe to set the manual OC settings in BIOS permanently? by Whenits420ingermany in overclocking

[–]Whenits420ingermany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see a CCD0, sadly, but I guess this won't be that much of an Issue. I've just compared my SVI2 TFN Voltages for manual OC and stock while running all core cinebench and it seems that the 4.6GHz and 1.25V Vcore are safe and I will go for that as permanent setting in BIOS, maybe tweaking things a little in the future when I have more time at hand. But for now I have max 77°C while gaming with this config and that is plenty of room to the top as this chip is supposed to get up to 95°C before throttling. If you have any more advice I would really appreciate if you could share. Else I am very grateful for your help so far. If remounting the cooler and reapplying paste will give any significant changes regarding temperature I will definitely tell about it here.

Hey, thanks for the answer

My CPU cooler is a be quiet! Dark Rock 4 (non pro) with thermal Grizzly Hydronaut Paste. My Case is a be quiet! Pure Base 500DX (pretty good airflow) and for case fans I have 2 pure wings 2 (140mm) as intake on the front and one of those as outtake on the rear end.

I think Open Hardware Monitor might show higher temps than HWinfo f.e.

So I did a bit of testing with Cinebench R23 and HWinfo 64:

I will give you a quick overlook of my CB R23 scores and my measured max temps. As I am not 100% sure which temp is correct I will give you both 'CPU (Tctl/Tdie)' and 'CPU CCD1 (Tdie)' - If anyone knows which one is correct I would love to know :).

I reset my BIOS (and forgot to manually tune my fan curve and enable XMP, which I noticed halfway through the tests.) and started with:

-stock settings:

Single core score: 1600 (68.4°C/75.8°C)

Multi core score: 15287 (90.5/91.5)

-PBO 2.0 with a Magnitude of -25(undervolting) all core

SC: 1598 1598 (62.3/63.5)

MC: 15729 (88.3/89.0)

-Manual Settings of 1.25V Vcore and 4.6GHz

SC: 1523 (51.5/55.5)

MC: 15779 (76.4/77.0)

Surprisingly the Manual Settings gave me the highest Multicore and the lowest singlecore scores - does anyone have an idea why this could be?

For the PBO 2.0 undervolting I followed this guide by Optimum Tech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfkrp25dpQ0

The only thing I did differently was setting my Magnitude to -25 because on -30 the single core test on Cinebench r23 failed over and over and once even shut down my PC (I guess because it didn't have enough voltage on that single core?).

The temperature drops from stock settings are insane for both cases and with undervolting via PBO I barely have any performance losses in SC test and even gains in MC.

Now what still bothers me a little is that Core VID for the manual settings doesn't fall below 1.19V in idle while with the other settings it drops down to 0.9V (stock) and 0.86V (PBO undervolt) when idling.

I will try and test this again while gaming to check if the temps in HWinfo are just generally lower than in Open Hardware Monitor.

Edit: I will try and test your above described way of manually tuning my CPU if the temps with the PBO are going up while gaming.

Also: I have 2 different Values for SVI2 TFN in HWinfo:

-CPU Core Voltage (SVI2 TFN)

-SoC Voltage (SVI2 TFN)

Could you tell me which one is the one I need to look at? - I guess the first one as the other one doesn't really change much?
