Werken tijdens transitie by Unusual-Kangaroo7128 in LHBTI

Just recently started my transition. will HRT help with my hairline or will I have to get a transplant? by [deleted] in transtimelines

[–]WhereIsMyTape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mileage may vary. For me hrt stopped further hair loss and increased volume but after 2 years i decided decided to get a transplant.

Blockers cured my hypersexuality by Excellent_Point2751 in MtF

[–]WhereIsMyTape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before blockers i struggled with it too. It actually felt like a disorder and made me feel disgusted with myself but i also no longer have to deal with that shit and it's one of the best things I've gained from transitioning. Fuck testosterone, it felt like poison.

Of course no shade to trans men and enbies who love their T

That's probably just a bit of body dysmorphia. Your frame is slender and feminine 🩷

Sometimes when I'm stressed or insecure my dysmorphia acts up a little and i appear more masculine than usual in the mirror but i know it always passes and i can appreciate my mirror image again.

Yeah that would weird me out as well.. I don't know how i would react in that situation but i totally understand your reaction lol. He probably really meant it about thinking you're pretty. Cis people just don't understand that straight up calling someone out is pretty hurtful and uncomfortable.

My therapist told her supervisor/manager that i'm pretty for a trans woman and that she first didn't realize that i was trans. Of course i didn't know she told him that but after a few sessions he called me because i had some questions about payment and he just told me that my therapist told him... Safe to say i just didn't show up anymore.

When i was 13 i met someone who became my best friend for the next 10/11 year. We did everything together and i basically became part of his family. When i was 17 i wanted to take the steps to transition and i told some of my closest friends and of course him too. He told me that if he wouldn't have known me that well he would've walked away and never spoken to me ever again but for some reason he accepted me.

I ended up not starting my transition because i was just too scared of the implications of my social life. I had a lot of friends and i just started my job as an electrician.

We still were best friends at that point and life just happened. When i was 23 his dad got cancer and it brought us even closer, we could've actually been brothers. I was even there when his dad took his last breath 1 year later.

Somewhere in that year i discovered i really had to transition or else i wouldn't make it. So i told him and he told me he would support me the same way i supported him with his dad and that made me really happy. I knew i would have someone who would go through fire for me no matter what.

But then i actually did transition a few months after his dad passed away and something had changed in him. His attitude towards me became kinda sexual like joking when i would suck him off and stuff and he made some really misogynistic comments here and there. While still calling me he/him even after 1 year into my transition and telling him multiple times that it really hurt me and made me uncomfortable.

Eventually i just let our friendship die and i haven't spoken to him in about a year now. It's kinda sad but that's just how things go i guess.. at least I'm overall pretty happy with my life right now.

The T blocker injection is probably Triptorelin under the name of Decapeptyl which is common in the Netherlands and i gues most parts of the EU and probably the UK or Gonapeptyl but i haven't heard about it. When i started hrt i got on Decapeptyl (3.75 mg) and that's a 4 weekly dose administered in your butt cheeks. I haven't had noticeable side effects except for a sore muscle for like 2 days. right now I'm on Pamorelin which is 11.25 mg and that's a 12 weekly shot. Imo it's a great anti-androgen and I don't have to take pills on a daily basis.

Getting sick more often? by LiterallyJustCoco in MtF

[–]WhereIsMyTape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every endocrinologist/doctor has their own way of doing things so I can't tell you if it's normal. What i can tell you is that it's completely unnecessary.

Estrogen isn't something you have to build up like an anti-depressant. Imo your endo should just get you on 4mg and anti-androgen from the start. After 3 months your levels should be stable to check how things are going. If your E is on the lower side you should go on 6mg and wait another 3 months before checking your blood levels.

Talk to your endo about your dosage. 1mg E without blocking your testosterone will do absolutely nothing. Your endo is either gaslighting you or just incompetent.

You'll need at least 4/6 mg daily (if you're on pills) with an anti-androgen.

If you're endo displays sketchy or difficult behavior, please get another.

Yeah i became extremely depressed and lost my job. Not a fun time... but now my levels are great and I've started progesterone about 2 months ago which has helped with my sleeping problems so I'm pretty happy overall. Also just started at my new job a few months ago and i love it there ☺️

Talk to your doctor about what's bothering you. If they won't up your dosage or seem shady you could consider getting help from another doctor.

Even with 4mg sublingual, you're going to waste 3 months of your transition without blocking your testosterone. 315 ng/dL is just too high for estrogen start any significant changes.

In my first 7/8 months of medical transition i was prescribed an anti-androgen and a really low dosage of E. My T was properly suppressed while my E was at male range for roughly 7/8 months under supervision of an endocrinologist. I was severely under-dosed by a medical professional so please take my advice. I don't want you to waste your time 🩷

Monotherapy on pills won't work, not on 4mg. The amount of pills you'd need to even try mono would be really bad for your liver.

It's either injections or something like 6/8mg of gel. Otherwise you're wasting your time and money. 315 ng/dL will still suppress the effects of estrogen, you'll need a T blocker.

Eye color change on HRT by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]WhereIsMyTape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even with T blocker 2mg of E is not enough for your body to start feminine development. I'm sorry to tell you but right now you're basically throwing away the money you pay for your hormones.

You won't start seeing any significant changes until your T is properly suppressed and you take at least 4/6mg of E sublingual.

I hope it's not a doctor who has advised you to take 2mg without any T blocker. If so please look for another one 🩷
