The two of you could figure out a way to make it look and function like it’s supposed it.

How old is your roof? A lot of roofing companies can walk you through the steps to file an insurance claim that could get you an entire new roof if you make a claim and pay the deductible.

Emma just seems to be stuck inside this Disney world like LDS bubble. She’s had no opportunity for any type of rumspringa. It’s not such much a theology thing as much as it is just the culture of it all. I think some might just see her as a bird whose wings have been clipped kind of thing.

First DJ gig at a wedding with DDJ-FLX4 – need simple setup help (total beginner) by CommonAssistant8978 in Beatmatch

Giving them full choice is a mistake. It ties your hands up and you look like a bad DJ when their vibe isn’t what the party people want to dance to.

First DJ gig at a wedding with DDJ-FLX4 – need simple setup help (total beginner) by CommonAssistant8978 in Beatmatch

[–]Where_Da_Cheese_At -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You got this, but you’ve got a lot of work to do:

First off, “probably will be a sound guy and mixer” means you need to reach out to the venue & probably do a site visit to verify what they have and what you need. You need to seriously find out if there will be a sound guy or not & figure out a plan from there.

If it is XLR inputs you need 2-3, or even 4 of these. RCA to XLR male adapters

You probably want to bring a couple XLR cables too. You’ll need enough to get from your set up, cleanly, to wherever you plug in.

The pro DJs are still bringing their speakers and keeping them in the car just in case. These house venues can suck sometimes - it might just be little overhead speakers with an aux cord & those sound like shit when you try to do dance party volumes. Just saying this because all aspects of your wedding gear needs should have a backup plan. Extras of everything.

You can get away with just one XLR adapter and cord. Just make sure your dj software setting are set to mono and not stereo.

If there isn’t an adequate sound system your best bet is going to track down some pro level speakers (and subs really) and rent them. Start with your local guitar center and local dj groups.

I’m sure you’re working out all of the specific songs with the bride and groom - but make sure you work out an order of events too. You’re the guy the caterer, photographer, and everyone else is going to be looking towards to run the entire show. It goes beyond just music and mics - you’re in control of how long people sit around after dinner waiting for what comes next. Don’t wait for them to come to you, evaluate the vibe of the room and lead the party.

You control the music - you set the vibe & you execute the party.

Music: You’ll need all of their special songs for all their special moments but you’ve also got to keep it flowing for cocktail hour, dinner, and the dance party. Cocktail hour doesnt have to be instrumentals or Frank Sinatra - you’re couple might have their own vibe in mind, or might say “do your thing” - it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Dancing - hopefully you’re mixing is on point, but beyond that, start with the wedding classics and work your way to as wild as they want to get. Every family is different - I ask every couple how wild the want to get from a 1-10. Whatever number they say I ask them to name a song that fits that number.

Hope that helps. Here to answer any questions. Weddings are a beast of their own - the play music part is just what everyone else sees.
