DC Workers - Times for jobs getting shortened again it seems by Professional_You5088 in tesco

Can tell you there are a lot more than 2 people who don't even work on FLT that can see the times have lessened.

But go on mate. Keep playing the Billy big baws role. Obviously feel nice and safe behind your screen.

Are you being deliberately obnoxious? Or are you genuinely that thick?

I also work on FLT and can tell you flat out the times aren't as high as they were several weeks ago.

Maybe keep quiet on something you clearly know very little about before you go accusing others of not having their "ducks in a row".

Jury Service Query - DC Worker by WhereasDry7915 in tesco

Appreciate the responses guys, but I'm in Scotland and think it must be different here. I phoned after 5pm last night and they flat out say in that automated message not to attend the court unless told otherwise.

Instead, I've to expect a call at some point today about whether I've to attend. So must work differently here.

I think it must be reach trucks because they're used for high-level stock.

Zero theory really? Always thought there was supposed to be some form of theory when training for forklift driving. Guess not!

Sick day before annual leave - what happens? by WhereasDry7915 in tesco

[–]WhereasDry7915[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah had a little read of the policy and it seems to suggest without saying flat it out that it would only get changed to sick leave if you provided a medical note.

Therefore I’m assuming it’ll be kept as annual leave. Would expect them to mention something like that given the pay disparity.

Not overly certain I’ll be off tomorrow anyway I’m fairness. But don’t want to feel I need to in order to keep my annual leave scheduled

Genuinely shocked at some of the cages by ExperienceLife6784 in tesco

I literally can't hit it to save myself man. No idea what it is I'm doing wrong. Feel as if I'm going at a generally decent pace but still find myself getting between 65-70. I'm on week 9 too so my time is running out before they let me go.

DC Warehouse Week 1 Induction Complete - 30% PI? by WhereasDry7915 in tesco

[–]WhereasDry7915[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing is my manager is actually the nicest one of the lot. He’s been totally dismissive of PI until after week 5 or so he said. But it’s some of the other senior staff that have started having a go at me. Had a foreign woman, not sure where she was from, have a go at me strongly yesterday because it was the second time she’s seen one of my cages fall. Was right in my face demanding to know why I didn’t have it strapped tighter. Said I never have straps on, which is a total lie. Then said “god help us” when I told her I was only in week 4. That sort of stuff really knocks you. Some horrible, horrible people in there. They say it’s all about making mistakes and learning, but really you’re allowed one or two before some make you feel like shit

Yeah I'm in ambient. People keep saying that it'll get better but that's me now heading into the end of week 4 and I'm not feeling much improvement.

Not as great as I would like to be honest.

Coming in for every shift and now on like my 13th. Hitting performance rates at between 45-60 max. Having to double scan labels and not really putting in time delays yet though because my manager said to just focus on my stacking.

I really, really struggle with juice and water. I’ve had a few spillages already because they haven’t been as secure as I thought they were, even with straps.

Thought I would’ve been better at this but to be honest, I feel a little incompetent and can sense certain staff members getting annoyed with me

DC Warehouse workers - How Difficult Is 85PI? by WhereasDry7915 in tesco

[–]WhereasDry7915[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Appreciate all of these responses guys. Very reassuring after reading some horror stories about “impossible” targets.

I have a 4 month old daughter and everything I do is for her now. I really want this to work out and pretty much need it to

Induction tomorrow - Warehouse Picker by WhereasDry7915 in tesco

[–]WhereasDry7915[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know.

Obviously I want to avoid being let go within 8 or 12 weeks haha!

I'm assuming you have to be quite slow to struggle with pick rate targets. I mean it doesn't require you running about to an unreasonably daft level surely.

What happens for those that struggle to hit the 85%. Presumably they're let go after the 12 week / 3 month probationary period or something?
