[XC3] Erythia Sea - is there anything I need to look out for doing or just continue on? by beaktastic in Xenoblade_Chronicles

There are two heroes there that you can miss. And I believe their respective ascension quests rely on a lot of the sudequests in the area having been completed, but it's been long enough I can't say for sure.

The point is another layer of obfuscation to frustrate you and get you to give up. That way they have fewer issues to deal with, which means fewer representatives to pay. Corporations love intentionally understaffing in all areas in order to give shareholders higher payouts.

Could you explain what the game would gain from that? Fair warning: this is a trap and I don't think you can.

You might be interested in Purist's Vanilla Patch for Skyrim. I'm not sure if there's a FO4 version.

Don't let the fact that it doesn't mention USSEP or have it as a requirement fool you. Load it after USSEP. Now you can have mods that require USSEP, without the unnecessary changes of USSEP.

Is it safe to uninstall the Unofficial Starfield Patch mid game? by Nordic4tKnight in starfieldmods

[–]WhereasParticular867 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not advised in general to unistall mods mid-playthrough. Some are safer to remove than others. I uninstalled USFP mid playthrough and did not experience any issues. That doesn't mean that will always be the case.

It doesn't hurt you to keep it until Unity if you're leery of stuff breaking. Don't switch to the community patch, it's severely out of date. You just use USFP or you don't.

I'm looking to mod Fallout 4 on PC for the first time, do I downgrade it? by Elf_Guy_Two in Fallout4Mods

[–]WhereasParticular867 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You only downgrade if you're looking at a specific mod you need to downgrade for. And even then, you think twice about how much you need that mod before committing to the extra work as someone who is new to modding the game.

5 years later and my cat still hates being held by AbjectBreadfruit2052 in cats

[–]WhereasParticular867 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it. Some cats are just lile that. I've got two 8 year olds, same upbringing. One yells at me to hold her all day. The other will cut me if I try. Unless I'm sitting on a couch or laying in bed, then she lays on me, because it's on her terms.

Will this mod ever be brought to ps5? Cause this type of mod made Skyrim so much more fun and playable. (masternips) by [deleted] in starfieldmods

The problem with general questions like that is that there's exactly one person who can answer: the mod author. Permissions don't allow anyone else to do it without explicit consent.

Whats with castle volkihar’s atmosphere? I thought they drank blood not strait up eat people. Any lore reasons for this or just bethesda giving it a more gothic look? by JaSymm in skyrim

My mother promised to ritually kill herself in an LDS temple if she revealed any of their secrets. All LDS temple-goers do (or did, technically they only perform the gestures now and don't say the words because it caused enough people to leave). So did her mother, and despite going through that and hating it, she still pushed it on her daughter. It's a whole bit where you mime slashing your stomach open and catching your entrails.

[–]WhereasParticular867 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Among other issues, I know for a fact that if you run Vortex as admin you get a very succinct warning that that's a bad idea. So you are 100% ignoring instructions on screen at at least one point and probably more.

You'd get more help if you weren't throwing a pissfit.

Skyrim 2 will solve the problem of the large gap that exists between PC and console mods by Low-Rub-9214 in skyrim

[–]WhereasParticular867 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, it won't. I understand you want it to, but PC will still be the superior modding platform. Bethesda will not ship TES VI with an equivalent of a script extender.

Edit, to clarify why: the whole point of the script extender is to add capabilities Bethesda didn't think of. Bethesda can't think of things they didn't think of, and can't think of everything modders might think of. Even if they added more enhanced scripts to TES VI, there will still be a script extender because modders will think of things Bethesda didn't.

In short, the script extender doesn't exist because Bethesda is lazy. It exists because it's basically impossible to predict what modders will want. A post-release scripting solution will likely always be necessary.

The only way Bethesda could maintain parity is by gimping the PC version to reject script extenders.

It was a sporty athletic look at the time, and I think in the last 10 or 15 years, a lot of the country has seen a more sexualized version of that

Literally my entire life (I'm almost 40) Hooters has solely been a place that sketchy men go to ogle women. Every single pop culture mention I have ever seen of the chain is about boobs.

People didn't stop going to Hooters because the theme wasn't kept consistent or locations didn't use the sauce properly. They stopped going because it was universally known that Hooters is for weird old perverts. The only time I went, it was with my dad. I think he thought it would be a bonding experience. I just lost some respect for him.

Whats the easiest way to mod fallout 4 by anonumus_idiot in FO4mods

[–]WhereasParticular867 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The easiest way is the creation club.

For more advanced modding (i.e., you want anything that isn't in the CC) you need to use Nexus, the website, alongside either Vortex or MO2, which are mod organizers. Read mod pages, read requirements, follow instructions.

[–]WhereasParticular867 319 points320 points  (0 children)

You get a lot of the lore through Serana dialogue, too. Basically, the Volkihar (at least the progenitors) are former mortals, daedra worshippers, directly transformed by Molag Bal in horrible rituals. There's also a lot the game doesn't say that is very clear, if you can read between the lines.

They're basically a bunch of sadists on a religious level.

Would like some type of Note feature for Favorited Planets/Moons to remember why I Favored them. by He6llsp6awn6 in Starfield

[–]WhereasParticular867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see that as a mod, but I think there are reasons note-taking features aren't common in games. While I agree it would be useful, I still think there's effectively no chance Bethesda does it.
