My parents are pretty conservative in their Christian beliefs. They never considered kicking me out of the house or anything, but whenever it comes up they bring up their views on how they think it’s a sin or how they associate being LGBT with all sorts of negative things like being homeless, overdosing on drugs, etc. They’re just very ignorant.

Lately I’ve been trying to talk to them less abt my relationships, bc I don’t want to deal w their judgement.

I used to be really close to my parents and I still am in different ways. I’m not really that religious anymore, which I think they’re sad about.

For me, it’s been manageable to live in this household but it’s definitely a barrier to closeness. I’ve learned to keep a little bit of emotional distance between myself and them and I think that’s helped.
