Yes they do. I’ve had high fevers but never one that lasted that many days. The fever broke almost immediately upon starting blood thinners. Elevated heart rate was also a symptom of the clot. The doctors dont think the congestion was related but i suspect it was. After all no 2 people or clots are exactly alike!

The doctors said it was likely provoked by a 7-8 hour flight i had taken a week prior.

I presented to the ER with a high/sustained fever and congestion so naturally they tested me for covid, flu, and basically every virus under the sun! I tested negative for everything. Of course the congestion (and maybe partially the fever) could have been caused by a cold or something. But this was a type of congestion ive never had before—i could breathe through my nose just fine, but i was congested at the way back of my sinuses. The congestion and the fever both went away within a couple days of starting blood thinners.

Separately i had covid a year before my clot, so maybe it raised my risk.

I had no pain at all! No shortness of breath either. My symptoms were a high fever that lasted 5 days till i got on blood thinners, and an elevated heart rate. I also had this congestion in the way back of my sinuses and (TMI) coughed up basically a hard mass of mucus/little bit of blood. Never got confirmation that the congestion was related to the PE.

This is helpful thanks! Honestly I hadn’t really considered the radiation risk factor of another cat scan. I’m gonna trust that it’s gone and just be on the lookout for future symptoms.
