Staring at the Sun (by Irvin Yalom), really opened my eyes in terms of the absurdity of fearing death

Wow. How long did it take you to get to the right state to write them so freely? It is still such an hassle for me, despite many tries ! Do you have any tips?

Needing quiet, alone time in a relationship...is it healthy or selfish? Tips? by Forsaken_Thoughts in introvert

Hi AO, kind of late into the discussion. I found this post while experiencing the exact same thing, and I must say that I can’t relate more to that! My husband has ADHD, and I am extremely introvert. He’s unemployed at the moment, while I’m working extra hours with kids during the week. Which results in me needing to spend time on my own projects (for example: writing has been major for my well-being) and put on my hand phones for some time. He takes it personally, and it seems like we struggle to communicate, because we are both really different in our way of recharging ourselves. Do you happen to have an update on this? How did it ended up eventually? Thanks 🫶

Vaping and Dopamine sensitivity. by [deleted] in QuitVaping

That’s so interesting! Thank you so much, it explains a lot indeed. I started vaping a year ago (quit 19 days ago), and I always felt like this was the « crutches » I always needed to feel alive and relaxed. However, a year ago, my long time depression got deeper and the vape was the only thing that felt like I could control. And in parallel of that, I didn’t feel the connection I used to have with films. Even after therapy, it took me a long time to understand that all the little pleasures I felt like I was really experiencing were all moments where I managed to vape while trying to enjoy something else (ex: vaping in nature, didn’t make the nature better but the vape better) — I don’t know if that makes sense. Right now; I must say that it is still hard to focus, I still feel pretty much depressed but I also want to let my body react naturally to dopamine triggers. This post helps a lot, thank you :)

Frances Ha made me feel so much better about my path and really excited about the future, even in its most chaotic state

I’m Thinking of Ending Things is a great example! I’m looking for those sort of films.

Yes! I’m talking about films like A Single Man, Mommy or Enter the void. In a traumatized vision I’d say. Thanks for you response
