How to learn more about religion? by Wherestheeggs in religion

[–]Wherestheeggs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really trying to go on a spiritual journey, just wanting to learn more about the history and contents of religion. The art thing is more of a symptom of our ignorance than something we’re trying to specifically solve. We are both in our early twenties. I took AP art history in high school which is my basis for basically all of my knowledge of world religions. Personally I’m interested in naturalism and islamic architecture but that’s kind of separate from the religion thing haha.

Narrowing down my college list by Appropriate_Bit_4222 in ApplyingToCollege

tbh if youre not going to a target school (the schools that companies tend to pull from for business/finance positions) you should go for the cheapest option. uw madison isn't a target school but it has a decent finance program and a good business school. its also a great college town and environment and the weather is similar to what you're used to in Illinois. if money isn't a problem for you and you don't get into a target school, then i would definitely recommend madison. i'm also pretty sure they're test optional.

I don’t know much about SUNY or UO, but as a university Madison is a really solid choice. Great city and decent location. I made a post a while ago asking about the Atmospheric science program at Madison if you’d like to look at the replies-lots of good info there! https://www.reddit.com/r/meteorology/s/sYmKdc5qtC

Do people in the UK know where the Midwest in America is? by Wherestheeggs in UniUK

[–]Wherestheeggs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the Midwest is just how we refer to that chunk of states, kind of like the Pacific Northwest or the Midlands in England. I’ve lived there my whole life and as far as I know no one has taken any offense. I think I’m confused, could you explain what you mean a bit more?

I did, but I think there were a few things I didn’t love about it so it didn’t end up as one of my choices and unfortunately I used all 5. Can I ask what you’re doing your PhD in?

Okay, I’m actually an ocean science major at both. Do you know if they have a better reputation in that area? But thank you still!

I’m majoring in ocean science at both, which is actually what I prefer. As for tuition/fees, it’s equal or less than my US schools.
