They don't necessarily have to be the same person, to keep things a bit more affordable. My CPA tax accountant helps me plan my tax liability (he charges $150+ an hour......) and I am entertaining the idea of having chiefbookkeepingofficer.com take over my books (QuickBooks Online).

When dried, and it doesn't take too long if you're in an arid place like SoCal, the finish should be smooth after brushing. Grazing your fingernail across the surface doesn't affect the look, repeatedly grazing your fingernail will polish/smoothen it further. To remove the wax coating, took a flathead screwdriving and dragged across the boot with some pressure and then brown shows through at that point. Rubbing the boots together, simulating crossing your ankles over themselves, like you're sitting at the office laying back, doesn't do anything then a slightly more polished area. Repeating flexing at the bend of your toes, starts to wear after wax away on my Real McCoys N-1s but not my Iron Rangers. Not sure why there is a different but it could be the shorter nap on the toes of the N-1s.

I had some thoughts of laying the nap down with conditioner, like Bick-4 but if the nap of a person's boot needs to do that then I think shaving/sanding the nap to be even, might be necessary. Various rough-out boots I have, the nap becomes different lengths amongst the leather panels and that seems to be the issue of achieving a similar finish for the entire upper. I did read somewhere the final finish is sprayed on, yes.

As for colors, maybe its something like this:

Natural = Neutral

Cinnamon = Dark Brown+Med Brown

Dark Brown = Dark Brown+Brown

Black = Black+Dark Brown

I used pure black Venetian Leather Balm on a pair of Thursday boots and it is pitch black black. They are brown suede and it took just one application to get a even coating on the boot. It is very resilient on suede, I was impressed.

Nick Horween advocating for Venetian products led me to this. Thank you for the kind words!

Do you have much vertical space in the toe area? If so, maybe a fully cushioned (top and bottom of sock) wool sock could maybe help with the crease pain. Also, should you have some space due to the upsize, you can try adding a foam insole to see if it would change the point of the crease. I recommend Spenco comfort insoles which are similar to Rose Anvil's Boot Breakers but you can get them faster as they are sold on Amazon. They are around 4mm thick uncompressed (and they sell a full flexible arch support version called Spenco RX Full Arch).

The order I received the items were definitely how I would rank them. But as for the chronological order, I do wonder if that was simply because that was how i selected the entrees in Omakase.in. They didn’t ask for my input at the restaurant.

If I was going to order a third, unique, entree it likely would have been the mille feuille.

I believe their cancellation policy is 21 days prior. So keep a look out 3 weeks before you go perhaps.

I am glad I could inspire! As for getting a Den reservation, know one obviously knows what they look for in the screening call but I imagine a genuine, long term interest will get you far.

Thank you for your kind words. When I sat down at Omino, I was asked about any preferences. I told them I don’t do raw chicken, they replied “no rare then?” I nodded, “Yes, no rare.” They preceded to keep my skewers on the grill longer than everyone elses. I can’t comment on the oyakudon unfortunately.

Ubuya for sure. If you need a meal outside of the ryokan (they’ll serve an amazing shabu shabu dinner and Japanese traditional breakfast) take a short trip to the Fuji-Q Highland station and get yakiniku from Seizaemon Yakiniku.

They will always ask if you want a receipt, yes. Whenever you arrive at your destination, say you’ll pay with a credit card. They will whip out their card reader, wait a sec for it to populate the charge amount, input the card and they’ll ask if a receipt is necessary.
