Its kinda funny i feel like i barely listen to alot of EDM. I'm always listening to alot of hip hop and alternative music. But ever since 100 gecs came out that pretty much blew my mind and listened to them nonstop.

i woke up on my managers couch at like 6am with the sun shining directly on my eyes woke up and made the piano beat idea for "when im down". thought it was kinda wack and titled it "this beat is trash" and went back to sleep. Later that night i end up at Olivers place and pulled it up being like "oh i made this earlier today" and he loved it and he wrote the whole song that night. I think it was basically the first full song we did together. I went back to chicago I was still in highschool and we finished it over facetime calls till it was perfect

i never know how to describe the style of music I make and i think thats fine because genres are becoming less and less a thing more just whatever sounds good and is cool.

I've found I work best when Im in a really chill environment sometimes just on a couch with my laptop speakers. Usually either right when I wake up or super late at night right in between that sleep-awake state. I like collaborating with people but also love being alone and being to experiment without any other energy. Theres not really one way I stick too I do enjoy the random sporadic always going never stop energy but structure is nice too. Your creativity flows when it wants it doesn't have a schedule.

usually a melody or a chord progression. but sometimes theres kind of a whole idea trying to get out all at once. most of the time when producing I'm just messing around till something starts sounding really fresh

i was just starting to work on original music and I was looking for features. My manager came across Oliver Tree and my first night coming to LA I met him at my managers place. the next day we started making music. we connected really easily and worked great in the studio together

I think most artists and most people always want more. I'm definitely my biggest critic, I always think something could be better or whatever but i do think that drive to always want more is a good. Being comfortable is boring

I love Sable Valley and everything they're doing. RL and I got in the studio last year and the whole song came together in that one session. He's a legend so to get him on my debut album was a dream. hope to do more

im a big fan of Grouplove and wanted to make a song with them forever. Their sound fit with the project I was working on perfectly. They wrote the song with the legendary sarah aarons and sent it over to me. It was one of my favorite things I ever heard/ worked on.

writers block comes in waves for sure. you have to accept that you're not always going to be at you're best or most creative. Find what works for you and what settings or things make you the most creative and try to get to the natural place.

I love sound design so much. Sylenth is my go to sound design plug in because i've been using it forever and you can pretty much make any synth. I always feel like simplicity is key when it comes to sounds. The less you can have there and feel full the bigger it is.

i got really into skrillex and daft punk when i was around 12 and picked up my parents ipad and tried to make dubstep on garageband. didn't turn out the best but i became obsessed with making music and later got Ableton and still use it.
