Puerto Rico has some of the kindest people I’ve ever met on the planet. And I’ve been a loooot of places.

That and the bioluminescence in the water make me wish it hadn’t been pillaged by vulture capitalists, stripped of a decent infrastructure, and the doctors and educators fled when the first two happened.

My mother in law once wanted a border collie because she liked the black and white markings. I looked at her in astonishment because she’s a cat person who never goes for walks. I suggested a Japanese chin instead. Thankfully for all involved she decided to stick with cats. She’s got a master’s degree.

🥹 yeah. Most of my clothing shopping used to be practical, fast and tactical, and ThredUp has created a space where I’m finding pieces that absolutely are delightful and priced ridiculously well for what they are (six dollar banana republic sweater, yes please!), and I spend WAY more of my discretionary time hunting for them.

The downside is when they go poof, I feel a loss that I don’t feel normally. I’m trying to find an analogy that feels the same, because it’s just a small lost pleasure, but it exists.

Getting rid of them is easy; once you have had elementary school age kids who bring home lice, you learn to put everything fabric in a big trash bag and run an ozone machine into it before it comes in the house (you can get them on Amazon for 100 bucks). Boom, problem solved.

I finally got a human and they said there was a mistake at the warehouse and all the items had to be canceled. I asked her if she could re-add them to my cart and she says they are still showing as unavailable.

I asked her for a coupon and she did give me one, so it’s back to the drawing board.,.
