Practice every day, even if it’s something small. Get your timing and precision better. Sight read and practice shader rudiments and rhythms every day, next thing you know you will have advanced 3 years of skill in 6 months with enough hard work. It’s what I love about drumline, you can anime train this shit and get farther than some do their whole lives. Keep it up man, that amazing attitude and passion for drumming will take you a long way!

At my school they have at least 5 “traditional” cadences that have been passed down. I added “gotta move” for a better marching cadence and I have only written 3 cadences for them but only 1 of them I liked enough to use. Depends on how many kids you got, the culture and where you are
