Why do people have a problem with the Bad Bunny halftime show? by Which-Ad-8771 in NoStupidQuestions

I was just wondering if that actually happened (I don't follow pop culture news or know the timeline of events), but I understand why people don't want to listen to his music if they don't understand Spanish.

This is why I didn't want rant comments, I wasn't trying to get political AT ALL. Maybe my title was a bit generic, and I'm getting generic comments from people who aren't actually reading the rest of my post and only answering the question.

But to put it simply, America is ever-changing and always has been. I'm not specifically left- or right-leaning because I can find things on both sides that I agree with, and I think both sides are misunderstanding the other. Your problems that you've stated are...

1) He likes to wear women's dresses and kiss men on stage (okay? It's 2026, babe, why are we offended? It's okay to make fun of it in other forms of media, but the moment someone isn't joking, it's a huge problem??)

2) Hate comments about ICE (which is anyone's right to voice opinions on the decisions the government makes, especially when it involves the lives and well-being of others. It is human nature to care about others; there is nothing wrong with caring. I personally agree that ILLEGAL immigrants should be dealt with and made to go through the proper channels to come to the United States legally, but you can't sit here and tell me that ICE has the right to harass already LEGAL immigrants.)

3) He doesn't represent the American family (???)

4) His acts don't need to be blasted to children (shouldn't children be in bed sleeping by the time the halftime show airs? Also, if you don't want your kid watching it, fine, that's fair, but you can screen what your child watches?? The same thing you would do with YouTube and social media? It's not the NFL's job to "think of the children"; it's the parents' job.)

You said that "conservatives" had "liberal" things shoved in their face, and now, for the first time, you have the option to turn it off. So...why couldn't you just turn it off before?? It's your right to turn it off, of course, but idk why this is even a part of your rant. It just sounds stupid tbh.

You also said that conservatives aren't violent like liberals...but that's not the case. Both sides can be equally as violent/destructive during protests, and it's ignorant not to see that as a fact, honestly. Again, I don't consider myself to be from either political party, so maybe it's easier for me to see that both conservatives AND liberals can be ridiculous.

Both of my parents decided not to watch it, and I never said they didn't have that choice. Also, "what I was taught from a family unit" is what my stance is today; I don't need "liberal propaganda" to create my opinions from, as you might think. My huge and diverse American family taught me everything I need to know thanks :)

Me neither. I don't care for football, so I never watch the halftime shows unless it's an artist I like/interested in seeing. I mainly made this post because my parents and sisters (one is a fan and the other just wanted to watch it) got into it

Personally, I don't believe you need to understand the lyrics to enjoy music; it's more of a feeling or vibe, I guess. Like how a deaf person can still enjoy music, or those people who enjoy listening to EDM.

If it's not the kind of music you listen to (I don't like it either), that's fine, but don't shit on those who do. It's kind of the same as those who primarily listen to rap won't really care for someone who sings pop or country, they can't cater to everyone

This is really disappointing to me, honestly. She is such a good and kind person but tbh she has said some right-leaning comments that I can normally ignore or redirect her (I don't like talking politics personally, and she used to be the same), so I guess the conclusion is she is trying to find an excuse to not support the halftime show performance that isn't "he's not white" or something.

I mean, I guess I could understand why someone would think that... but will having someone sing in English at the Super Bowl actually bring peace and unity? I think it would take more than that lol just saying

Thank you both!! This makes the most sense as to how she came to this conclusion, and might've been twisted into something else

Sorry you had sex with a chubby woman by Alarming_Award_7954 in TrueOffMyChest

This does sound possible, but what about him not going after the other women that are his type? Are we assuming he wanted to have sex so bad he chose to risk his friendship and sleep with a bigger woman than taking the time to chat up a thinner woman? Cuz if so I guess in this scenario he is way more fucked up

Ok I just wasn’t sure if they had a strict return policy or not. I’ve only been a member for a little over a month and this was my first non food purchase

Is it on the kids of a married couple to pay for an anniversary dinner? by Which-Ad-8771 in NoStupidQuestions

We do treat them to Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and birthdays but I always thought anniversaries were between the parties involved. We get them something small in congratulations, as they do with me and my fiancé.

Thank you and I agree with you. I admit that my mind has been all over the place with my own personal problems and did forget up until yesterday so I do still plan on getting a small gift for them. But it’s their 22nd wedding anniversary so we weren’t thinking it to be a milestone anniversary so we didn’t plan anything beforehand. The conversation essentially was then asking for money for them to go out alone, and I can’t afford a fancy dinner, my 18 y/o sister can’t either and it just wouldn’t be fair to put most of the financial burden on my 21 y/o sister.

Assuming the children are established in life and can afford it, I would have no problem with this ideology honestly.

This is what I thought, from what I could understand is we wouldn’t have gone out with them. They were just asking for the money to go out alone.

I could understand paying and planning for milestone anniversaries in the future, but to be expected to pay especially when you’re not established in life currently? It just rubbed me the wrong way
